The base game is fine for me, but this season is lackluster. Joker was fairly easy to unlock, compared to something like Warframe. In Warframe, you need to constantly farm for 3 parts in order to make the character. Then you have to craft it for over 3 days. The story is the main issue. There's nothing there besides 2 cutscenes. I'd understand if they'd use different story elements to cover for cutscenes, but they didn't even do that.
Nah the fact that Harley doesn’t care that joker is back especially the lengths she went for him in Arkham city and knight just tells me besides the main story whoever wrote this game needs to be fired

They specifically said that each season or chapter would be like a weekly comic book issue. Nothing literally happened at all. It felt like we captured Joker like a glorified Pokémon. The closest thing is audio logs for Joker. What the heck is this?

They're doing what they did with the Avengers game where they just recycle a Villan group (AIM) over and over. Avengers only started to get attention with the black panther dlc because they weren't just fighting AIM this time but it was too little too late and Suicide squad seems to not want to learn from their competitors

I just replayed all the Arkham games and it just bummed me out seeing scarecrows face. That whole entire ending of Knight, from when you drop the belt to the house going up is so damn good and so full of emotion and great character stuff and this is what followed it. Sad

He doesn’t usually break out just cause, he usually has hired help and/or plan out the places he goes to ahead of time to operate. This Joker couldn’t do that in this case Brainiac is powerful and (meant to be) intelligent alien who just showed up one day demolishing everyone and would have no idea how the ship works. Also this doesn’t answer why Batman can’t break out cause if Joker can find a way, so should he.
Well you see, the universe he's from is one where the events of Arkham City did happen and Batman lost in the Clayface battle, but Basil Karlo discovered he liked being the Joker so much that he betrayed and killed the original. Then after a while, he decided to take some artistic liberties with his Joker persona just so he wasn't doing the same character for all time. So Brainiac was expecting a normal Joker with normal human anatomy when he put Joker in his restraints without knowing that this "Joker" isn't even actually Joker. In fact he's so convincing that even the Waller, Luthor, and the Squad don't know he's Clayface in disguise. But Penguin knows, because that umbrella is fake as shit.
I might receive some hate for this: I genuinely like this iteration of Joker. His design is fun and grants opportunities for scenes like those exhibited here where he's both immensely scary to those around him yet can't be taken seriously by the audience due to how ridiculous he is. The voice actor did an awesome job, too. He's clearly committed, he's a barrel of laughs the whole way through; in my genuine opinion, he isn't trying too hard- he's having fun with it, and that's exactly what you should do. I like this Joker. A voice well acted. I'm excited to see more of him. Thank you, BAV.
I like that he’s not doing another Hamill impression. So many actors fall into that trap. Only ones I can think of that didn’t are this one and The Dark Knight Returns.

Everyone's looking for the "next Hamill"- "The next Ledger"... Oblivious to the fact that their performances stand out so well because they're so different from each other. People will rush to argue that Joaquin Phoenix "isn't the real Joker", too, but they'd be remiss to say that it isn't a fresh take on a character we know damn well is *a Joker. A now widely appreciated take on a familiar face- and he is nothing like either Hamill nor Ledger. Who knew?-.. That doing something *your own way would result in an iconic performance.
I liked this game until now, make the scenes as motion comics instead of a good quality thing... I paid 100 dollars on it and I deserve something good, anyone's who paid for this. It just makes me feel playing Marvels Avengers all over again. Come on Rocksteady... you guys can make something better
The motion comic is actually pretty cool. It probably took more effort than it might seem like it did. They will probably only use them for intros not anything else. Its probably easier for them to do everything in engine than create those motion comics.
The writing and character scripts are really bad for this game overall. This first DLC wave just has a little more of the same. I would hope that “sassy gay best friend” Joker would have the hints of developing at least friendship with Harley, after the shitty handling of how she “suddenly moved on” after Arkham Knight. Whatever the generation this game’s staff belong to, they do not know how to write really good tributes to what came before, or a proper symphonic story with SLOW MOVEMENTS in between the constant heart pounding action encounters. Fire them all.

Its overpriced and the story is pretty garbage, but I enjoy the clear effort and passion that went into the characters and animations, and the game is very fun to play. All of this could’ve been avoided if it weren’t connected to Arkham. Like if it were it’s own thing, I would’ve been fine with it. No wonder the OG rocksteady crew dipped on this one, I would’ve too. Not a bad game, just a terrible continuation of a great franchise.

Anyone else find it weird how often the characters remind you that the game is fun? Here, the Batman boss fight, and other situations there are just quips of the characters telling you that some gameplay mechanic is fun. It's like they don't trust you to realize that on your own.

I genuinely like this iteration of Joker. His design is fun and grants opportunities for scenes like those exhibited here where he's both immensely scary to those around him yet can't be taken seriously by the audience due to how ridiculous he is. The voice actor did an awesome job, too. He's clearly committed, he's a barrel of laughs the whole way through; in my genuine opinion, he isn't trying too hard- he's having fun with it, and that's exactly what you should do. I like this Joker. A voice well acted.

I was just talking to someone about this: People are so tunnel-visioned by legendary performances that they won't allow fresh talent to hold a candle by comparison no matter how well they did. Everyone's looking for the "next Hamill"- "The next Ledger"... Oblivious to the fact that their performances stand out so well because they're so different from each other.
People will rush to argue that Joaquin Phoenix "isn't the real Joker", too, but they'd be remiss to say that it isn't a fresh take on a character we know damn well is *a Joker. A now widely appreciated take on a familiar face- and he is nothing like either Hamill nor Ledger. Who knew?-.. That doing something *your own way would result in an iconic performance.

The motion comic is actually pretty cool. It probably took more effort than it might seem like it did. They will probably only use them for intros not anything else. Its probably easier for them to do everything in engine than create those motion comics.

The writing and character scripts are really bad for this game overall. This first DLC wave just has a little more of the same. I would hope that “sassy gay best friend” Joker would have the hints of developing at least friendship with Harley, after the shitty handling of how she “suddenly moved on” after Arkham Knight. Whatever the generation this game’s staff belong to, they do not know how to write really good tributes to what came before, or a proper symphonic story with SLOW MOVEMENTS in between the constant heart pounding action encounters. Fire them all.
The fact there is no Harley or joker conversations is a joke in itself

Its overpriced and the story is pretty garbage, but I enjoy the clear effort and passion that went into the characters and animations, and the game is very fun to play. There are *definitely* people who only hate this game because everyone else does and haven't actually played it.

I defended this game but the lack of an actual story (beside the 8-10 hours "story") is garbage. Nobody needs more repetitive activities, we need more storytelling. This season was their last chance to save this game. What a mess.

Anyone else find it weird how often the characters remind you that the game is fun? Here, the Batman boss fight, and other situations there are just quips of the characters telling you that some gameplay mechanic is fun. It's like they don't trust you to realize that on your own.
