It makes perfect sense for the up house to be in the middle of the city like that because in the movie that's literally what happens The city starts to build up around the house..
If you extend it all around (with the blue rim) it gives the set overall more detailed feeling. The left side and back side feel a bit plain. Just a suggestion… it is a nice build!
Putting the house next to the construction site is a great nod to the movie. Also, to hide the gap in the back, I would suggest extending the roof plates 1 stud, so that the roof goes past the gable wall, and using this excess stud to put the same blue elements that are decorating the front gable. That would add thinckness to the roof plates, and hide the hole in the wall.
You my friend are an inspiration. As a life long Lego fan at age 43 I just received my first two Modular’s for Christmas and intend to start a city myself. I was gifted the Natural History museum and The Classic diner. I look forward to adding more as money and space allow.
Great placement of the Up House, it looks like a place you would want to float away from. I must admit I'm not a fan of the roof, I just wish it sloped at the back the same way it slopes at the front. Plus that gap is noticeable. The rest of the modular build is great!
Looks great! I’ve been wanting to modularize my UP house for a while in my Lego city, but I’m not buying any more Lego until they reinstate you to the ambassador program.
The placement was perfect! I believe there was actually a scene where a construction site was going on and Carl refused to leave.. so his house end up being surrounded with taller buildings
I built this a couple months ago but i made an adjustment to lime green brick on the bottom, i instead lined it with two plates and then a layer of tiles and jumpers that way i can make the house float with transparent bricks . Great build, and the placement definitely works
I think you're onto something with hooking up fishing line to the Up House, but rather than have it as a permanent floating object I think it'd be cool to add magnets to the foundation of the house and then also the ground, hook up a pulley system so it can go up and down. Then when it is lowered all the way down the magnets will align and it will sit flush on the ground. If all that makes sense lol
my thoughts on your roof gap. maybe extend the roof one more platelength do a light blue underhang like on the front to cover the gap. or maybe so something like the roof on the gingerbread house, w a tube down the point of roof.
I think you found the perfect place for Carl’s house. I got the up house for Christmas and I think I’ll get the plans for this build. I like the full building instead of just the front
I think to fix the back you could make the entire house structure one stud shorter and mimic the blue detailing on the front of the roof on the front of the house. That way the roof would hang over just like on the front and the extra pieces would fill the gap well.
I'm all over these upgrades to established buildings and areas of the city. With so much of the city "complete", it's the logical next step to take what's there to that extra level
You could try to use one of the "Slope 45 2x1 Double" to fill up the gap in the roof (part 3044b). PS: it makes perfect sense that the house is right next to a construction site and highrises, just like in the movie at the beginning!
With regard to the gap at the top, maybe make the roof longer, or bring the back wall in one brick and do the same as the front peak with the 2 light blue plates on the eves. hide the gap with those Beside the construction yard is the best place for it.
05:32 surely you could put a 1x2 plate modified (jumper) there and then have a 1x1 45 double slope piece on top. Might look better than what you have there now.
Just got this set for Christmas and this video makes me wanna go out and buy one more. You did a really good job placing the Up house since the movie had the house amidst a bunch of new construction
Gap between back sloped all and roof. I have a piece that may fit better than 2 cheese slopes. The number inside says 13-03, which I have tried to identify, but can't seem to. It is a 1x2 piece that comes up to a single peak. The 4 sides go upwards to a peak on one side, which makes the one side flat. Putting it in place of the 2 cheese slopes I think will match the angle of the wall better and fill in more of the gap.
It does have the LEGO logo inside. the 13 is followed by a hyphen and the 03 after the hyphen is underlined. It is very tiny inside. I found one image online that calls it 2x1 Triple Roof Peak Slope Piece. If you put two of them back to back you would have a pointed peak right in the middle of a 2x2 area. You just have to put the piece in with the flat side to the outer wall.
If you use one of those 1x2x1 1/3 slope pieces with the handlebar it’s commonly used as a seat back piece, I think it should fill in the gap if you put it on its side.
I never notice this before, but beside your Technic Daytona, is that the Technic 8210 Nitro Bike GTX? I had that as a kid, rear suspension looked cool, had tonneau of fun with that set.
Bricksie, make the audio of the video Mono, that will make it so there is no right or left channel and you wont have any issues with people hearing one ear
At 10:00, I'm not sure if he is being sarcastic or if he hasn't watched the movie lol😅. He did never said the word 'again ' when mentioning maybe he should watch the movie, hehe.
What editing software are you currently using? Davinci resolve has a feature that can duplicate a left or right audio source to create two embedded audio channels. If you need any help there’s a few RUclips tutorials or feel free to reach out! I’m a full time director and know Davinci like the back of my hand haha
Leave it to Bricksie to find a way to ramble on for 12 min for a basic alt build and city placement. I would go back to watching your stuff daily if you got it down to 5 to 10min. People’s time is limited and I bet most don’t make it to the end. Just sayin.
Hey Jordan would having 2 UP sets be a good way to modularize it? My local Walmart has them on sale for 48 bucks and been thinking of picking up a second one. In my opinion I think you could of did better designing your build better on your own.
Audio was fine on this video! It did scare me on the previous video as I just replaced my old headset because my old one had.. audio only coming from my one ear
Yeah change the roof, it looks awful, why does Lego insist on building their modular roof with plates instead of beams, slanted brick and tied, which looks so much better and more like an actual roof. That's my suggestion. Hope you and your family are enjoying the seasonal festivities 😼🐈👍
It makes perfect sense for the up house to be in the middle of the city like that because in the movie that's literally what happens The city starts to build up around the house..
Came here to make the exact same comment.
Hilariously, that is what I was thinking too
and when the house goes into the air it is across a scyscraper
Me too 😂@@GeorgeNewman795
Was going to say this too 👌🏼
5:45 extend the roof by 1 stud and add the same blue trim that covers up the same gap on the front
Yep was going to say this.

The location is great, it's movie accurate

I will join you in your action ! great idea , the whole lego community should follow you
The placement was perfect! I believe there was actually a scene where a construction site was going on and Carl refused to leave.. so his house end up being surrounded with taller buildings

I would try a 1x2 plate with a jumper, add a snot 1x1 brick with 1x1 slopes either side and a small 1x1 pyramid slope on top? If that makes sense :)
I was going to suggest something similar, but with the 1×2 slope elements (grill) on either side of the snot brick
my thoughts on your roof gap. maybe extend the roof one more platelength do a light blue underhang like on the front to cover the gap. or maybe so something like the roof on the gingerbread house, w a tube down the point of roof.

Thank you for trying out the modular UP house as well It perfectlly in the main city just like the movie 😊
I think to fix the back you could make the entire house structure one stud shorter and mimic the blue detailing on the front of the roof on the front of the house. That way the roof would hang over just like on the front and the extra pieces would fill the gap well.

Love the movie UP. Where you have it in the city makes perfect sense in a way, just like the beginning of the movie. lol.
With regard to the gap at the top, maybe make the roof longer, or bring the back wall in one brick and do the same as the front peak with the 2 light blue plates on the eves. hide the gap with those
Beside the construction yard is the best place for it.
Shorten the back wall by 1 stud or extend the roof. Add the same blue feature as the front of the roof to the back to hide the slope gaps.
wow this is cool and the place you decided to put it is really good and fitting
The House next to The construction site makes perfect sense!
You MAY be able to fix the roof line using the techniques of the A-Frame cabin. Might be worth a try
05:32 surely you could put a 1x2 plate modified (jumper) there and then have a 1x1 45 double slope piece on top. Might look better than what you have there now.

awesome video jordan the up house looks amazing great job
Almost 400k !!! Woowooo

@5:55 I think one of the quarter round sand blue tiles fell off, top right.
5:50 how about Slope 45 2 x 1 Triple - Smooth - 3048b
Love seeing these modularizations of playsets! Really fun ideas and makes me want to try to do some myself!
The blue outline on the roof in the front, mimic that in the back
The best place for the up house is in between skyscrapers or next to the construction site, or in the air
So where you placed it makes sense
Amazing! Loving the creativity - great to have a few months concentrating on the city. Thanks for your inspiring content 👍
It wouldn't be a Bricksie video without BrickArtisan 😂
extend the roof overhang on the back and use the blue pieces as the front to cover the gap under the eaves
I just got this set from Christmas I like it the way it is
up house upgrade is
You need to make the roof one stud longer and fill the gap the same as the front.
I made a sticker (to scale) for the letterbox when I modularised my own LEGO Up House if you wanna put that on it 🎉
Holy Massive Lego City, Batman!
You should keep a list of all the few pieces needed/missing from each project so once the list is long enough you can order everything at once
I liked another moc instruction by rykfield on rebrickable. House looks more like a house.
I love this! So good that
you posted this content!
Hey there, on that double slope under the roof, you could use a 1x2 tile with the centered stud with a triangler 1x1 slope?
2:11 “shoo sure” 😂
The Up house actually does make sense next to the construction site because in the movie they would ask him to move because they where building a mall
for the roof, what about one of those 1 x 2 slope pieces with the spike on top?
Let it fly!
I never notice this before, but beside your Technic Daytona, is that the Technic 8210 Nitro Bike GTX? I had that as a kid, rear suspension looked cool, had tonneau of fun with that set.

The audio is better in this video

I have mine in between my daily bugle and police station 😆
Copy the front to the back of the roof with a different color
You could try part 3044c Slope 45 2x1 Double
If you put headphones on you can hear when the audio is only recorded on one side.
That's a funny coincidence because I started building a mils plate for the up house too lol
Bricksie, you should have made the complete back for the house by yourself, because this is Brick artisons city not your custom.
needs 10-15X the number of balloons (sorry I bought out many of these on BL
when the set first came out ;)
yes make it floating
Leave it to Bricksie to find a way to ramble on for 12 min for a basic alt build and city placement. I would go back to watching your stuff daily if you got it down to 5 to 10min. People’s time is limited and I bet most don’t make it to the end. Just sayin.

have you added the lego movie 2 emmet house?
Very awesome
Audio was fine on this video! It did scare me on the previous video as I just replaced my old headset because my old one had.. audio only coming from my one ear
can you please make a crime scene or an accident
Seems like everyone is doing this to their lego up house also do you have the lego ghostbusters fire house
Yeah change the roof, it looks awful, why does Lego insist on building their modular roof with plates instead of beams, slanted brick and tied, which looks so much better and more like an actual roof. That's my suggestion. Hope you and your family are enjoying the seasonal festivities 😼🐈👍
Your audio was only mono in your auction ad in your last video
Hinge roof?
:D
Hello!!
I found the up house for 30£ i think to buy it for my first ever set what u think? I really like it
The audio is in mono mode just in selfie mode
Day 15 of asking for a double corner town hall!
You could fill the gap with chewing gum.
I never said it was a *good* idea.
carl an ellie mailbox?
Love your city but i think the hospital don't match with the rest of the city 🤷🏻
I’m excessively disappointed with the back side
Hi
More like 3x3 2x2 1x1 lego piece
I’m very early
Is it just me or is your Daily Bugle leaning bavkwards? 🤔
first
Hi
