Hi guys, here's a really interesting book I've read that doesn't get as much coverage as it should. Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds is a great book to read if you're interested in crowd psychology. It provides dozens of examples of how rational people can behave in an illogical way through various historical stories. It is seen as an important book to read for potential investors as it explores in detail the circumstances behind several economic bubbles. This is more of a review than a summary as I'm focusing on two chapters I enjoyed the most and how they're relevant in the present day. There are a lot more examples in the book. If you want more of these types of videos, let me know! Cheers, Adam
"Men, it has been well said, think in herds. It will be seen that they go mad in herds; while they only recover their senses slowly, one by one." This is one of the best books of all time.
"The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself."
People should read "Memoirs of Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds" - 1841 (Charles Mackay) ... a knowledge that seems to have been lost.
"Intrinsic value" is a difficult/not very accurate/misleading term. Values are subjective and thus no "intrinsic". Also the analysis/synopsis of the crisis you give, is to be debated. There were very real laws via a promise by the Bush administration put into place beforehand.
That witch hunter/detector reminds me of a crowd who said that Jesus mus 5:27 t be of Satan (the devil) since he could cast out demons. He replied something like "Why would satan cast out satan?" Like how stupid is that?
I don't get it. "The most contrarian thing of all is not to oppose the crowd but to think for yourself." But if you think for yourself, aren't you opposing the crowd? And I know some of you might say something like "Thinking for yourself doesn't just mean going against the crowd." But then why did he use that particular word? Because it does mean exactly that in a _contrarian_ sense. Why not something more like "Think for yourself and don't be influenced by popular opinion."?
I really do like your videos. I have learned a lot about how the persons mind works. It has help me make moves in my career. I went from an entry level employee to an marketing team lead because of this channel.

I'm just here to learn about the most recent madness of the global crowd
If you’re a member of the species homo sapiens you’re part of the problem.
Two years on and it seems that we have learned absolutely nothing.
@@dissilymordentroge5818You're right. You first.
It will be interesting to see if Transmania ends cataclysmically in a bang, or quietly in a whisper.

The tulipmania was largely untrue, there really only a coupe of recorded cases of people buying over priced tulips.
Why are we such stupid sheep?
No one self teaches.. All of their knowledge comes from other people

At the end of each video you need to work on creating a call to action. That will help you get a stronger following.
