Fella's, this is a perfect candidate for an old truck swap, the entire drive train up in under a 50-60's pick up or panel truck. Hey, last week, I got in late, I turned on your video and your video and about ten others was watching me, but I did view yours and your Bro's early that morning, liked and fell back in to Zz land. But, another great video, hopes the swap or shop truck gets a buyer... Good weekend guys
Morning Max! Sorry I'm late catching this one, been shovelling the white junk. Nice find and great patience getting it running. Fix it up a little and flip it. It's got those headlights I couldn't stand on my 88, now you can see why I gave it a grill and lights from a 91. Heck, my whole interior is out of a 95... 60/40 bench seat, Impossible to find in Canada, this one I found in New Hampshire. I guess I built a Frankenstein... 88 OBS Reg Cab Sport Side with a 95 interior and a 91 grill and lights. No wonder she looks so good.😁 Thankfully I'm not a purist... I'd be having nightmares.
@@sheepwolf1st Morning buddy. Try not to freeze out there. I love a 60/40 bench. I understand why you changed the lights. As always. Appreciate you always watching and commenting

Hey max at timestamp 13:13 they kinda did that on Mad Mad films only TurdBuster would have to suck fuel in his mouth and spit it straight into the turbo
@ maybe if you were able to watch Mad Max that was released in june 1980 and show him what you want him to do ......... ah who am i kidding you have a better chance of doing it yourself lol
@@SquareMax I am actually a ford guy, but I like seeing any old truck getting revived and I found your channel a little while ago and thought that your stuff was actually pretty cool!
You should check to see if this vehicle came with the VATS (Vehicle Anti-Theft System) if do there is a control module that can shut off the fuel pump and the injector pump
Yupp! Gas rag on old industrial detroit diesels and international diesels works well! I wouldn't do it to a modern computer controlled diesel. I know weak batteries can cause all kinds of issues!
Bud. Get yourself a trigger, a wire set up to the starter. That you can press to turn the motor over without going around inside, outside, inside outside inside outside inside. Making me dizzy
That looks like it has an overdrive unit for the trans. US gear had a kit to install an overdrive unit, I have a Doug Nash overdrive unit for a th400 and is supposedly the same unit as the US gear unit since US Gear bought out Doug Nash.
@@SquareMax Also with the lift pumps on the gmt400 6.2 and on 92-95 6.5 trucks the lift pump only runs while cranking through a relay plumbed into the starting circuit and then it switches over to the oil pressure switch. That oil pressure switch likes to burn out the contact for the lift pump so the oil pressure gauge will still read but the lift pump won't come on, unless it's cranking. Had the issue with my 88 k1500 that has a 6.2 when I first got her so I replaced the oil pressure switch than got a aftermarket lift pump harness for a 92-94 6.5 truck so that the oil pressure lasts longer.
@@SquareMax That works too. I like the aftermarket lift pump harness better myself since the one I got from Quadstar Tuning still turns the lift pump on whenever the glow plugs are cycling too, since it comes with a lead that connects to the output of the glow plug controller.
They never put a 6.2 in the obs 1500 they offered a 6.5 for 1 or 2 years in the late 90s in a 1500 but that was special someone swapped it in pretty cool they turboed it dont see many of them turboed i highly doubt that cluster is correct mileage
@@claytoncoolidge992 A "1988 Chevy 2500 6 lug with the 6.2 diesel" refers to a 1988 Chevrolet C2500 truck with a 6.2 liter diesel engine, featuring a 6-lug wheel pattern, which is typically associated with heavier duty trucks in the Chevrolet C/K series; this was a common engine option for Chevrolet trucks during that era.
