this movie is severely underrated
So much emotion in just a minute and 16 seconds. Amazing
One of my all-time favorite scenes in any movie.
As a musician who’s been around a lot of songwriters (some of them extremely successful, including one who I think Kelly Canter is partially based on) I can attest that this is the most realistic example of two people co-writing a song that I’ve ever seen in a movie. This is a tragically under appreciated film and one of my favorite movies about musicians ever made.
I love this movie. A lady battling depression with only one person that actually loved her.
But her husband loved her so much he was just so bitter and resentful about what happened to their baby and that she let herself go. Ugh such a good movie
@@cj5021 She didn't let herself go. She lost a child and and had a loveless marriage. He only cared about her popularity rather than her well being.
@@marcirwilcox1160 I actually completely agree with you. I shouldn't have put it that way.. she didn't "let herself go" but she did let the bottle get the best of her. I think the husband was so resentful about her having an addiction that cost them their baby, that he couldn't make himself show her love anymore. Completely agree with you.

@@marcirwilcox1160 i think their marriage still had love or he wouldn't have taken her death as bad as he did. sometimes we hold on to what was so hard it destroys what can be. he wanted to go back and rebuild what they had in the beginning. in his selfish desire, he turned a blind eye and deaf ears to her suffering.
the old saying " when you get bucked off the horse, get back on.". sometimes you need to be humble enough to realize that horse isn't yours to break. he should have helped her recover from the loss in seclusion, just him and those they trusted.in the end they both were severely broken people.
it might just be because I'm a guy and can see his side. i have a tendency to dig in and try to force the situation into becoming better. most times you have to let go, catch a breath, and truly survey your situation.
