I am from Dubrovnik, love to see tourists coming again 👍 also rememmber one guy from South Korea wanted to spend only 5$ per day in every town he is going. So I pointed him go in some bakeries outside Old Town. With 10$ could eat much more just 2km from this spot. Nice video and keep them coming 😉
5usd per day is quite low indeed haha. I'll keep it in mind for next time and walk a bit further.

heres a tip for your next visit! some of the caffe places in the old town have coffees discounted in the morning hours! usually until 10AM.

Wow...you guys are so sweet!! I loved watching this...reminiscing about my trip there late last year. Dubrovnik definitely calls for a balance between low and high budget, but you can definitely still enjoy it with less money. Some of my favourite memories are just walking through the streets, listening to the music wafting from the windows, and enjoying the wild ocean. Thanks for the great video!

If you want cheap food in Dubrovnik, you have to go outside of the city wall to the supermarket. I learned that when I was there.
Exactly! Literally a 2 min walk can save you a lot of money when you're on a smaller budget there :)

Awww my beautiful home and native land Croatia! And Dubrovnik region my place of birth! No place like it on the globe. if you are there for a while longer please visit a well known winery in the Konavle region "Crvik Winery" a place where I grew up with superb local sorts of wine. Sretno!
Dubrovnik is one of my "must do's" on my 2022 trip, but I was worried about the budget and this makes me feel better. I'm sure my budget lodgings will be outside the walls, so I'll be sure to have breakfast and dinner outside and budget for a more expensive lunch.
Outside the walls is better as Dubrovnik is loud at night. Air bib is your best bet. Getting to the old city is a stair challenge as in hundreds of steps or a downhill hike. Park in the municipal garage or make sure that the accommodations have on site parking. Parking is expensive.
@@frankbutaric3565 Thank you for the advice, Frank. I will not have a car as I am traveling around the world (air, train, bus) so that won't be a problem. Once I'm in Dubrovnik, my only transportation will be my feet!
You are going to have a great time in Dubrovnik for sure. It is one of our favourite cities in Europe. TONS of charm, especially for such a small place (a waiter told us only 600 people or so live within the walled city)

That was where I (Kim) wanted to go for sunset drinks. But it was closed (not sure if that was because of off season or covid)

We did not include dinner because then we would not have been able to do activities and just eat haha. And also we often eat just 2 meals a day anyway (not good we know 😂)

Not so fun fact about Dubrovnik is that 100$ is 1/10 of national average income per month in Croatia. Great city with super high prices.
Yes I get that it's really not affordable in the old town. Almost no locals live there anymore either. Probably due to the rise in rent prices because of tourism.

For cheap eating you should have tried burek.
Even those were relatively expensive in the bakeries in & around Dubrovnik (at least for a 10 eur budget). A burek was about 3 usd at least

It is indeed a big difference compared to most other places in Croatia we visited
@@NaickKim Yes, there is a difference between Dubrovnik and other places in Croatia. This is because other places are ridiculously cheap compared to what they have to offer. Croats should adjust their prices so that they are more in line with other Mediterranean countries like Spain, Greece, Italy France a.s.o.
@@asterixx6878 Croat from north here. Dont know about Greece, but Barcelona and Rome felt cheaper to me. I had three course lunch, next to a Notre Dame in Paris for 16 euros. Not fine dining lunch, but it was excellent. I understand that hype about old town but....in pre-corona era I could buy low cost plane tickets and spend one week in Barcelona for less money than one week in Dubrovnik( coming with my car or a plane). Ive done both, so I know. Sad fact.
@@dado4352 Why it is "a sad fact". You have no money? Visit another city - there are a lot to choose from. Dubrovnik has an abundance of tourists like few other European cities, so Dubrovnik residents are doing exactly the right thing by charging well for their services. I hope that they will soon start charging (properly) for everyone who wants to visit the city inside the walls.
We can only hope that other cities in Croatia will learn from Dubrovnik. Why should Croatian cities be cheaper than Greek, Italian, Spanish and French cities?
What you had to pay for a three-course dinner 'near Notre Dame', is about as much as we had to pay for three cups of coffee, when we last visited Paris. Are you sure you were in Paris ??

The average coffee in average cafe in centers of most cities is 8-10 kn. 24 kn is over the list, since the most luxurious and grande cafe house in Croatia, the Kavkaz is 16kn. So this is overpriced, make you shit coffee

Oh yes indeed. This was way overpriced compared to the rest of Croatia. But I guess a lot of people are willing to pay it, or they would be a out of business. The coffee was pretty good though, even though the aftertaste was a bit bitter 😜😜
@@NaickKim there are many low quality places on the seaside like that which aim to function only as tourist traps. That's why when your on the sea side first check the price list and then sit on the table. in rest of Croatia even exclusive and high quality cafe's you can sit and order and not be afraid of prices, here in Croatia its a matter of pride and honour not to cheat your guest, but some tend to do it on the seaside

It is quite expensive indeed.
1. This makes no sense. Dubrovnik is historical artifact with recreated past and very "fluid" pricing. They are known for "dual pricing" - one price for locals and whole range of prices for incoming muggles.
2. What's so special about Dubrovnik ?
It's most genuine part of history was as a stage for Game Of Thrones and that "naked street stroll" scene with Cersei.
