I'd like to see a Rebar mod to include the bit driver. It would also be nice to see Leatherman embrace the modular tool approach. If not that then explore a custom order process for something. Likely the Wave since it seems to be popular. However they might think that wouls cut sales of things like the Arc.
It’s hard to align things up when putting a tool together. I wonder if one could assist that task with some sort of conical pin or such that would get things more lined up.
When pivots get stubborn, usually I sand a bit of the thread end part with a drill and sand paper, trying to make a small chanfer to make it easier to slide. Maybe, not the best, but it has worked for me.
I think I’m just going to grind the flat head into an awl. It’s a tool a rarely use and you already have a flat head with the bit driver. I usually end up breaking that tool anyway trying to pry with it.
more modding videos, please! i love seeing what all people think of and how they do it, even if i don't have those tools. something i actually consider when buying is what mods I've found tutorials for, if I'm not 100% happy with it out of the box. or, even if i am, someone might have thought of something that'll make me like it even more! so I'm in full support of more modding videos, for sure. what I'm most interested in currently are mods to more budget tools, particularly Gerber Suspension NXT, Ozark Trail Multiforce, and SOG Powerpint. but I'm still very much interested in the more expensive tools as well, which I'll hopefully be able to afford in the future. I'm really interested in the Leatherman Garage 5 and Free P4.
You got me to modding, so please do more. Continue to help people like you did with me. I love my heavily modded Wave (driver from the armbar slim/rebar plier head/full size scissors from a Chinese mt etc...) I've tailored it to my needs and it was thanks to your advise. Keep on modding
Hey man I would love to see you do a mod adding scissors to a Leatherman Bond! Ideally the cheapest possible option like maybe swap the file for the Bibury Pro large scissors? I would love to add scissors to it but it wouldn't be worth it if it cost more than the original tool

Max; Panavise makes a clamp on vise that is made in Reno Nevada and while a little more expensive; this is 100% made in USA. Still family owned and operated as well.
I don't think big companies will give the modular option any time soon, that's why I like mod videos, they show how every person has a different need and how they approach those needs. We already customize our edc's to our lives, why not take a step further and customize your tools?
I would certainly be interested. I've personally done a few SAKs, and I'm comfortable there. I'm worried about undoing those leatherman fasteners and scratching the hell out of them.
I think there is demand for modding multitools to make them TSA safe (namely replacing blades). On Amazon I was able to get a Jetsetter and a Gerber 600, but the rest of the bladeless tools have been sold out for months and months. The TSA does not allow multitools which have any kind of knife blade regardless of its length except for scissors, which must be less than 4 inches.

Not that it matters but here is some useless info . I've been keeping track of the cuts I do with my arc on hardwire . And my arc has officially cut through 12ga galvanized wire 150 times, and the cutters are still holding up . To be clear I raise swine so I'm working with electric fences everyday incase someone anyone was thinking bs on 150cuts .

And now we have the Roxon flex about to enter the market, completely customisable and no tools required, if the tool you require doesn’t exist yet, you can buy blanks and make it.

I have a 1st gen wave from the 90's I would like to mod it appears the screws are proprietary. None of my security bits work. I'm at a loss of how to get it apart. Any suggestions?
What third party awl did you use? I tried adding the rebar awl to my tti charge + and there is some noticeable lock rock. Still usable, just a little annoying.

that's the serrated blade from the Charge series. It comes with that hook
