This film never truly addressed why people started doing crack in the first place. What makes a person take their FIRST hit? The drug dealers aren't forcing anyone to use their product; people are going to them to start trying it. Something is pushing people into doing the drugs. Also, even if people don't buy drugs from a dealer, people can mix common household products together to make their own drugs. We need to figure out what makes people want to get high in the first place.
Depression, anxiety, emotional trauma, physical pain, social isolation and intellectual detachment, and can’t deny that a good bit of it is just because it feels good/is fun
The first time I ever drove a jaguar white guy who used to come buy from me in my hood traded it to me for a 50 piece in 1990 it was a 1990 xjs kept it for 2 days I was 15
I'm an ex addict I wasted 20years ov My Life so we did lose a generation an its sad I feel for theys addicts who are still suffering they always go after The addicts instead of the dealers it's not right 👍👍
I mean they did & they didn't. They probably warned them to stay away from drugs but kids know their parents are wrong sometimes & they realize that some drugs don't seem all that bad so maybe the "hard" ones also aren't so hard? I think parents should say "I don't know. Perhaps we could look into getting those answers together," more often so their kids don't grow up thinking their parents are stupid or full of shit. Also, they should stop lying in order to protect the kids because everything you say then becomes suspect & no one ever thinks liars have good intentions in the first place.
Sad how the government never seems to care about the people suffering. They care more about arresting as many drug dealers as possible, but forget about the people on drugs. That's why this hasn't ended. The demand is still there even after the dealer is gone. But the opposite isn't true, the supplier doesn't stay when there is no more demand.

Drugs and prostitution are illegal most places because most governments haven't figured out how to tax them adequately to profit from both of them. Period. Lots of examples of places that stopped giving a shit about it, and usage rates and abuse have gone down.
Drugs are illegal because, if you watch the video, you'll see they devastate communities and by extention the economy. Look at how irresponsible people are with drink, and people want to unleash and legalise drugs? And alcohol isn't as addictive. Drugs are made to annihilate societies and its working.

Yea back then it was real dope one hit u hooked
This film never truly addressed why people started doing crack in the first place. What makes a person take their FIRST hit? The drug dealers aren't forcing anyone to use their product; people are going to them to start trying it. Something is pushing people into doing the drugs. Also, even if people don't buy drugs from a dealer, people can mix common household products together to make their own drugs. We need to figure out what makes people want to get high in the first place.
Depression, anxiety, emotional trauma, physical pain, social isolation and intellectual detachment, and can’t deny that a good bit of it is just because it feels good/is fun
Lot of brothers been to the joint behind 10 buck deals but I also know alot of mills made from 10 buck deals

I'm an ex addict I wasted 20years ov My Life so we did lose a generation an its sad I feel for theys addicts who are still suffering they always go after The addicts instead of the dealers it's not right 👍👍
These parents are hilarious. 'We didn't raise them this way.' Whatever you need to tell yourself.
You born a addict it’s something with your brain wiring once you get turned on to something it’s over with.
24:00 White Girl: I Took One Hit And Called My Job & Told Them I Quite 😂 Gott Damn Now I See Why My Dad, Aunt, Uncle's And Half My Family Was Hooked On This Shyt 😬 Still Are 😣 My Aunt Was Shot & Killed Out On Them Streets. From D.C to Riverside California
Umm what’s the point of arresting the addict who’s buying 20$ of crack? Y didn’t they go after the big fish 🐠 oh that’s rite the government is the big fish 🐠 😂
Lol what a waste to money and time this was in the 80s and nothing has changed if anything it’s getting worse
Drugs are made to annihilate societies and its working.
why weren't they going after the dealers
That was tactics..the buyers did get time, the were busted to flip on the dealers
It's a job they wanna get paid and go home
The best part of waking up is Folgers in your cup
So sad for the parents!
Coming off of crack is not even in the same Stratosphere of coming off of heroin
I remember these times , East Palo Alto, CA was a huge crack town back then
I remember this doc when it came out. When that young kid got out of jail and his father said he could do it, you could see in his eyes that all he wanted was a hit.
