Am I the only one who actually sound okay while singing? Edit: I don't mean this to be mean or make it seem like I'm self centered. It's just everyone else in the comments are comparing themselves to some kind of animal when they sing. I'm simply saying I sound okay when I sing and not like a dying goat as they say.

It really helps to know an instrument to harmonize! I play violin and always end up playing the B part because im more advanced than my brother, and it’s great practice!

An extra tip: They are singing lower and differently because they want you to harmonize them as the melody ( Sing the regular sing as it was originally made but higher then them so you don’t sound exactly like them.) :)
@@yayarose5370 no what im talking about songs where there is a beat but the vocalist provides the melody. And like I said I don't know most of these songs so I can't sing the melody over the beat. It's fine when I know the song or the melody is provided by the piano

Remember guys: Sing higher than them so you can harmonize. If you sing like them exactly, it won’t be considered as the harmony. You will need to be the melody! Melody definition: Harmonizing with somebody but going the higher pitch and singing the song originally. They are singing lower and differently so it can be easier for you and the song to sound amazing! I hope this helps! Let me know if this is still confusing.
I tend to stick to a lower harmony since I’m alto talking the high harmony is difficult for me sometimes since I have a lower range but one of my friends finds it hard to sing low bc I’m pretty sure she’s a soprano it’s all about your natural range if you hear it and feel it as a comfortable fitting sound it’s whichever works for the individual person in my (albeit limited) experience
