    Tremendously helpful series for new pool owners. Thanks for sharing.

    You made opening and closing that large size inline canister look so easy. Once those things get a few years on them, they become very tough to get sealed properly on closing it (even with pool lube on the O-ring).
    I now use the smaller one by Kokido and it is so much easier to work with.

    AH the Kreapy Krualy is my fav auto pool cleaner out there. Been using them since 1994 They sure last for years on end since they only have one moving part.
    I have only replaced a total of 3 of them since, Due to the chlorine damaging the plastic of the models.
    Only parts that gets replaced now and then are the 'Pleated seal' and the 'Footpad'

      On of my favorites also and now with the new plastic they should last forever.

    Hello! I have just found your channel and think it is great - thank you! I just wondered which of your reviewed robotic cleaners works on a fully tiled pool? I have heard that many are not able to grip well enough, and therefore don't move around the whole pool. We have had an old Hayward in the past (many years ago), which cleaned only OK, but mostly got stuck down the deep end. Thanks so much again, and all the best for the new year of 2017!

      I know the Polaris Robotic Cleaners work great in a tile pool. Certain Aquabot models also work great in a Tile pool. You are looking for a cleaner that can climb a 90 degree angle. Look at the new Polaris 8050 Sport as it has a nice feature where you can set the robots grip to specific pool types.

    I have found that creepy crawler to be incredibly weak for diving pools. She/he fails to circulate throughout the entire pool. Are there any remedies. Regardless, I am keeping it for the winter season and using the four-wheeler for summer. Hope all is well under these unprecedented conditions!

    GREAT VIDEOS! I have watched a lot of them and have learned a ton of great information. Auto pool cleaners question....still under construction Fiberglass 16x36 SWG pool, 1 hp variable speed pump (no booster pump). Leaning towards a pressure vacuum so skimmer can run. One oak tree may blow leaves in the pool, rounded corners, steps at both ends.
    Trying to narrow down my choices- Kreep Krauler Legend 2, Kreep Krauler, or poolvergnuegen. Reliability and ease of use two biggest factors. I have ruled out robots due to price and too many moving parts to break. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance and PLEASE KEEP MAKING VIDEOS.

    • @SPL
      @SPL  10 лет назад

      Pressure Side:
      The Polaris 360 would be my choice for you. The Poolvergnuegen is fine but it might have trouble in the fiberglass surface. I have a Polaris 360 in a fiberglass pool and it works great. It is in this video and I added special suction cup tires to help it out in the fiberglass pool. I am supposing that they are installing 1.5" threaded return lines in your pool? Also it would help to know what filter size they are installing as the Polaris 360 can create some back pressure.
      Suction Side:
      If your going with a suction side cleaner I would suggest a dedicated side port for that cleaner. That way the skimmer will still function and the cleaner can work. Not sure what phase of the construction you are in but a side suction port works best with a cleaner. The New Kreepy Krauly works well in Fiberglass pools and picks up Oak Tree debris very well.

    • @thomassmith6852
      @thomassmith6852 10 лет назад

      Thanks for the quick reply. Pool is in but waiting on concrete work. 3 return ports (threaded not sure if 2" or 1 1/2"); one dedicated for pool cleaner which can be isolated. The filter will be a catridge Pentair Clean and Clear plus 360. Forgot to mention, biggest problem area for us will be fine dust from surrounding farm fields.
      Side note, I've watch a lot of your videos and noticed no pools with an ionization system (copper/silver). Local pool store suggested MineralPure system with Ozonator over SWG. We are sticking with SWG. Thoughts/Experience with these?

    • @SPL
      @SPL  10 лет назад +1

      Thomas Smith Suction side cleaner would be better with dust - wasn't sure if in your answer they are installing a dedicated suction line on the side of the pool (side port).
      SWG is all you will need. Ionization is not recommended as metal could leak into the pool. Ozone is better. You can use Ozone with a SWG but it is overkill. The SWG will generate enough chlorine for the entire day and longer. So the chances of having any algae are slim to none.

    At 3:33ff, you and the young man in the video mentioned that when they're working, the poolvergnuegens work great. Do they break down? If so, why and how often? Which one was the small, second one at 3:33? Thanks

    • @SPL
      @SPL  10 лет назад

      The Poolvergnuegens are highly reliable. For the first 5 years or more all you will need to do is change the rubber tires. At the 3:33 mark - that is a 2 wheel Poolvergnuegen the "PoolCleaner." It is the one I sell the most of on my route. Yes, the young man is not my son - he is my nephew ;) He could be though, as I have known him since he was born. I feel old...

    • @RyanJohnsonD
      @RyanJohnsonD 10 лет назад

      Which do you prefer the G2 Kreeper or the 2 wheel Poolvergnuegen the "PoolCleaner?" What are the pros and cons of the two? I just bought a home with a 30k gallon pool and it's getting dirty quickly. Yikes!

    • @SPL
      @SPL  10 лет назад

      Ryan Johnson The main factor is the surface type. If it is regular plaster or pebbletec then the poolvergnuegen is my preferred cleaner. Also in your case depending on where you will connect it determines if you need a 4 wheel or 2 wheel model. Do you have a side port in the middle of the pool by chance? If not where is the skimmer located?

    • @RyanJohnsonD
      @RyanJohnsonD 10 лет назад

      The skimmer is at the deep end of the pool, next to the Jacuzzi, and closest to the heater and filter. When I open the lid of the skimmer, there are two holes in the bottom. Just shared with you pics of my pool and equipment on Google+ (your in my Circle now:)).

    • @SPL
      @SPL  10 лет назад

      Ryan Johnson Pretty old stuff. Heater looks like it is not connected. Pool doesn't look very large. Just measure it from the skimmer to the shallow end to determine if you need the 2x or 4x model. "The PoolCleaner", Installation, Troubleshooting & Tips: ruclips.net/video/zG3u09VJ46Y/видео.html
      Looks like it needs some chemicals. A little murky.

    Our Pentair Racer seems to be stopping on the steps. It goes good on the liner at the bottom but it get sort of stuck and really slows down on the steps. I think it might have a pressure issue or something. Do you have any tips?

    • @SPL
      @SPL  8 лет назад

      How old is it?

    • @natej4230
      @natej4230 8 лет назад

      About a year.

    • @SPL
      @SPL  8 лет назад

      I recently filmed a rebuild of one (not done editing yet) and noticed that the plastic frame that holds the front wheel on was cracked causing one wheel to be wobbly and allowing it to get hung up on the steps also. Check to see if one wheel feels loose. I think it is too new for a rebuild but I would take the top off and check the frame by that front wheel. I wish I had the video done for you to see - just way behind on my production - Summer Time and I run a pool route.

      I like the Zodiac W70472 Baracuda G2 Automatic Pool Cleaner. It is under $250 on Amazon. Will climb the walls opposed to other gear type cleaners, MX6, Hayward Navigator, etc. Got two of them in Fiberglass pools and they do well. Maybe send a photo of your pool to my Website under the "contact me" box just in case. Sometimes you will need the hose "twister" adapter depending.

    I've had a Kreepy Krauly in my pool since 2006 and it still works like a charm. However, when my oaks start dropping their leaves, the suction line gets clogged and I have to use a clog buster on the end of a garden hose to blast the clog of leaves back out into the pool. Also, third parties have started making replacement parts for the Kreepy, which in my opinion, are superior to the Pentair OEM parts. I think I'm going to get a leaf canister!
    Also, Leslie's is dumping the Polaris 280 for the P38. The P38 has a smaller throat, but has 3 jets instead of 2. They look like the 360 but with a booster pump.

    • @SPL
      @SPL  8 лет назад +1

      +Bret Maxwell Cool to hear. Those Kreepy Krauly cleaners last forever. I think that is why Pentair updated their cleaner because of all the generic parts out there. If you have 1.5" return lines a good buy for you would be the PoolSkim to help skim the leaves off the top before they sink to the bottom and clog up the cleaner. Just a thought.
      The P38 is the same as the Polaris 380. The 280 is just too durable and long lasting I guess - it is the best Polaris of the bunch.

    I just put in a MX8 to replace my ThePoolCleaner 4W and it is not moving much if at all. My pool guys told "they don't work" on larger pools with Pebblesheen. I'm guessing it is a flow issue. I want to make the MX8 works before I pull it out and buy a new PoolCleaner after only a couple of weeks. Any thoughts? Thanks much, S

    Oh ok. Your nephew coming along ok? I saw in one of your other videos the cart you use to carry your equipment. Where did you get it? I see pool companies down here with hammer heads but I'm interested in a cart like yours.

    • @SPL
      @SPL  10 лет назад

      I picked it up from another pool guy about 9 years ago. SCP & Superior sell them with the clamp for the back of the truck for around $500-$600. Haven't used a Hammer Head myself - a few guys in my area use them. The cart I use comes in real handy.
