  • Military Pillboxes are a startling feature of the Manx countryside.
They remain forgotten in various locations all over the Isle of Man, many on public land, reminding us of the experiences of the Islnd during 1939-1940.
This short film investigates a few of these pillboxes (at Meayll Hill in the south, and in Jurby in the north), explaining some of their features and why they were built where they were.
This is one of a series of films investigating the Isle of Man during the Second World War.
