- Beau Greaves gave a raw appeal for more to be given to ladies darts after retaining her World Matchplay title " Mens and Ladies darts should be separate. I don't think any lady will ever go to Ally Pally and win that, if you think that you're being silly. I don't look forward to playing the men"

Beaus interviews are brilliant just speaks the truth not media trained so refreshing to see keep up the amazing work
Fair play to her. Can't get much more honest than that.
Admire her honesty. Nice to hear her talk so openly and talk so much common sense
I don't understand why woman can't compete with the men. There are no physical advantages 🤔
The advantages with men is there far superior talent wise even tho Beau could compete with men there are no other women good enough to compete with the men just as beau mentioned in the interview
If she hates playing against the men she’s never going to get better and realise her full potential. She’s already outgrown the women’s circuit, if she stays over there much longer she’ll stagnate. She showed at Modus that she’s ready to take the step up now.
totally agree. Really dislike her mentality to it. It seems like shes become too comfortable being the biggest fish in the tiny pond in that sense.I'm sorry, but there is no reason in a mental/ precision sport like darts that a women cannot match a man. the thing holding them back is this shield of lower level female competition preventing overall competitive growth... when your clear greatest peak of all time female darts player says things like that, it is really damning for women growth in the overall game. She's basically saying, I'm happy here, I'm the clear best, now reward me better for it.
Sorry Beau, but it doesn't and shouldn't work like that. People want to see the best in the world playing the highest level and there is 0 reason that a player of her level can't challenge the best men if she screws her head back on correctly with her mental approach to that. Stop farming a pool of players who wouldn't get past day 1 of Q school and show your class in the worlds elite.
@@christor2907 Spot on 👏
A great performance in the final Beau..A checkout of 60%. Anyone in the game would be happy with that stat.
What a lovely lass, well done..
No ambition whatsoever. By far the best moments player who would beat a lot of men on tour
Nature has its original design for Human survival.
Men and Women have different mental and physical structures. That allow them to work together for a better chance of survival for the family unit.
The Rapid change in society is far too fast for evolution to keep pace with.
So Men and Women still have the same primitive abilities to survive as our ancestors did.
In a now modern society with Gender roles that have far less place for these requirements any more.
We are what we are, no matter what anyone thinks about it.
Facts of the matter cannot be changed by any amount of wishful thinking.
Men and Women are built different to each other on the physical and psychological level.
Both with the best abilities nature has provided.
Curses cannot change this.
False belief does not change this.
Nothing changes this.
If Beau doesn't want to play against men, it's entirely up to her. She might be happy and content. I agree that there's space for more TV women's darts but I reckon PDC would want to see overall tournament averages up a bit. There's the main four women imo (Beau, Fallon, Lisa and Mikuru) and maybe a couple of others but the pool's a bit shallow as regards hitting 90+ averages and darts fans like those big scores. The standard of the Women's WDF world championships in the early rounds isn't really that far off pub league so it's not that watchable and I think the PDC will have their beady eyes on stuff like that. Personally, I'd love to see any woman win a TV major and I think Beau could do it but, like I said, if she's happy, guid on her. There's more women than men in my darts team, btw. Mon the Vine B.
Agree but I wish she would play against the men as she is a beast. Proper player
Great interview. Well done Beau
That is so refreshing to see such honesty and I'd wager she'll get some flak over stating the obvious. Good on you girl.
Her comments are similar to Linda Duffy’s who said “I don’t think it’s fair to ask women to play against men” Why? It might not be popular in this gender politicking time but men outperform women at tasks which require throwing ability. This is based on empirical research so Beau’s apprehension is understandable.
But she’s played Van Leuven in the past, and beat Van Leuven so it’s not like she can’t beat male players.
That’s one person. And she isn’t saying she can’t beat male players just that the competition is significantly tougher.
@@toffeeman5322 noahs average wouldn't be in the mens top 400. Yet his average puts him in the top 5 of women. Is that fair?
Thing is though, all jokes aside. If you were to put money on any one female darts player to win, or at least go deep in the PDC Worlds it would be Beau.
Whether she actually wins or not is up for debate and in my opinion it will never happen. But she’s the best shot amongst the current female players competing today. So the fact she won’t play seems a bit ironic to me. But it’s her decision and she knows what’s best for her. Who am I to argue?
@@toffeeman5322 I wouldn’t read into what a 20 year old thinks for too long, but I agree Beau doesn’t have a killer instinct. Darts is definitely more of introvert game, but at the professional level being an extrovert is better for crowds and monetization of the game. Fallon at her best could probably beat some of those players between the top 32-20. Im sure as a man the expectations are that you win over a woman basically every time. However, the pressure can get to you.
They cannot compete against their own and fail miserably and then they say I’m a ---- and dominate.
why wouldnt she want to play the men, its not a physical sport where a man would have an advantage. and shes one of the best
Men also have a neurological advantage aswell as a physical advantage, better hand eye coordination, better reflexes.
Beau has just answered your question. What do you want? A signed confession that women can't regularly compete with the men??
@ironknobsteelworks4063 I was responding to the guy above who seemed confused as to why Beau wouldn't want to play against the men as darts is not a physical sport. I was simply pointing out that there is a neurological aspect. No hate here
@@maxholmes6518 yeah my comment was aimed at the guy above Pal.
Have you ever played darts for any length of time? Standing for hours on end throwing does give you a sore shoulder especially the way the pros throw which is quite hard.
Of course there is a physical advantage
Just as long as you realise the prize money will reflect that
Great honest interview!
Well played and said Beau, proud of you...👍
This changes everything
The men's prize is £200.000 , for the ladies it's £10.000, its a massive difference needs to be better then that
@ImNotRickGrimes darts is a business, when the women's game becomes as popular as the men's then the prize money will reflect that
The difference is justified. The standard on the men's tour is so much better.
Mens tournament runs for over a week, thats a whole lot of tv adverts and sponsorship exposure.
Womens tournament last an afternoon!!!!!
@GretatheEvilGremlin because its not popular is why its only an afternoon 🙄
@@ImNotRickGrimes the money reflects the draw of the women's game. Darts is a business not a charity.
Finally respect beau
First off I admire Beau's brute honesty about her own feelings. However, when it comes to her in particular, I completely disagree with her assessment. I think she 100% already has the talent to compete with the men, and given her age, I am absolutely convinced she has the potential to not only earn a tour card and compete on tour, but to qualify for Euro tours, for the players championship finals, for the worlds through the Protour OoM (and even win a game or 2 there), and if she continues to improve, she could even have the talent to qualify for the matchplay or the grand prix.
It's ironic that what she says regarding women being incapable of truly competing with the men on a regular basis probably applies to every female player in history *except* Beau herself. Maybe it's because she sees all the other women and assumes she is of that calibre but someone needs to wake her up and make her realize she is WAY better than any of her other female competitors and she is capable of achieving so many things that no woman has ever done before in darts.
We all saw her in the slam last year, after 2 games she had more 180s than anyone else, and it took big finish heroics from both Nathan Aspinall and Damon Heta - 2 of the best in the world - to barely edge past her in last leg deciders. Not to mention her comfortable win vs Pietrezcko. On the super series she was extraordinary, winning what, 16 games in a row was it? Vs some of the best *male* players in the world without a tour card? She is good enough, she just needs to realize herself how good she is.
My thoughts exactly. I can only think she is either too humble to recognise her own ability, or is taking the easy road and pushing for more women's only tournaments so she can make a better living winning all of them.
I prefer the first answer, just becuase she seems 100% sincere in her interviews, but you never know...
🎯👏
@@Joel-js2gk what she wants is an easy way to earn money by smashing the women. She is advocating for more money in the women's game.
She doesn't want the hard graft of going on the man's tour.
Unfortunately for her darts is a business and not a charity for women.
@@ironknobsteelworks4063 Well first off you can't blame her for wanting more money in the women's game. But I also think she genuinely wants to see the women's game grow, both for herself personally but also for the game as a whole. I think it'd be good for the women's game for the pdc to host an additional major for the women, or maybe have a female euro tour piggyback on one of the men's ETs? Idk how feasible it is just throwing out some ideas.
One thing I feel strongly about is that if the PDC don't want to host their own women's world championship - which Matt Porter has made clear is the case - then they should let female players play in both the WDF women's world championship and at ally pally. I know their defense is "we're not stopping anyone from doing anything" but let's be real what they've done is essentially given the top female players an ultimatum when it comes to the worlds.
Back to Beau, I think she was silly to not at least attend q school for 1 day so that she'd at least have the option of playing the challenge tour this year, I hope even if she has no intention of earning a tour card for 2025 that she does that. MSS is close to the same level as Challenge Tour so if she can crush it on Modus she'd do very well on the CT as well.
@@Joel-js2gk I demand more money as an electrician too. Unfortunately my market value is pretty much set in stone.
Men getting paid more to play darts as nothing to do with gender or sexism.
Women get paid more than men in the fashion and porn industry. Why is that then? Is it sexism towards men or the market value?
Beau has a negative mindset here that won’t inspire younger girls. No reason why a women can’t win a PDC major.
Negative or not she’s right
@@kierondavies2822 I think darts is way ahead of other sports by giving women a chance to compete with the men. It’s a opportunity you don’t get with other sports.
Theory and reality are really different in this case...
She does realise that darts is gender neutral sport. It’s funny because Fallon has actually beaten MvG. Not only that but she’s beaten men at the Worlds including a Champions League winner, drew in her Premier League Debut against Durrent in a thriller, has got to the quarters of the Grand Slam and is a finalist of the Copenhagen Darts Masters where she made MvG cry. She’s also beaten countless men in both Q School and the Challenge tour.
What a waste of a top talents dart career. This is deta hedman feeding her Bs
Well done Beau. Title retained, then go retain the WDF too. Can't fault her views, people can say what they like, but Fallon makes a rod for everyones back when she peddles the "we can compete with the men" nonsense.
I think fallon is definitely the best female against the men but greaves easily number 1 in the world in the women’s game
For all you bleeding hearts who think trans wo.en should play with the women. I think beau has just answered that question.....men play with men and women play with women.
The best woman at darts has just admitted that women can't compete with men. Yes they can beat men on occasions but cannot compete on the mens tour.
Noah Lynn is a disgrace.
In theory they could compete but in reality not really. Maybe in a few years...
@@lbreindl6 why would they be able compete in a few years?
Beau greaves has been playing darts since she was kid, what would change in 2 years? She is at the peak of her career and has stated she cannot compete day in day out with the men.
So aren't the pdc a disgrace too for allowing it to happen
@@blue_red_screen they are culpable for allowing noah to play on the woman's tour.
No doubt noah will call me a bigot and a hater but nobody is stopping him from playing darts.
Eluminated in the grand slam? 🤣
Ok you want separate tournaments for woman that’s fine but you just won the match play first to six in the final.
How about the final be the same as the men.
First to 18 but that will not happen because apparently woman don’t have the stamina to play for that long.
If the woman want more money they need to perform and deserve it.
Nothing is given in life. You work for it.
Isn’t that what she doing?
@@kurtphilly yeah but if you want more money and fame you need to be at your best level, and now and in the past the best level is playing amongst men
@@bulydino I’m not arguing against that premise. Once more women start playing darts below age 10, it will be much more likely that women players compete on similar footing.
it's only going to get worse as more trans "women" enter the sport
trouble is Beau , you already playing against a man , VAN LEEUVEN
You dont like play van leuven ?
Why not ask her... Why do you not think the women can ever compete with the men, given there is no physical advantage to being a man in precision or mental sports like darts, snooker, chess? She referenced looking at any other sport... sure, but why in a sport like darts? I don't personally see why women shouldn't be able to compete with men if they put in the same effort and dedication.
I think that the women separate competitions in these sort of sports actually holds women back because the overall level is less, it doesn't force that competitive growth.
Beau has the game to beat a lot of the men. Maybe she's talking about women's health, as a factor, as to why women struggle for consistency?
Women’s health? TF?? 😂😂
Luke llittler looks younger now hes shaved
Is that a bloke?
No the only man in the women’s matchplay lost.
ask yourself same question
