Sending love ❤. I miss grandpa everyday .xx thank you for continuing his legacy!
God bless your team for making children happy ❤
To all who are thinking it is an elephant foot, please note that it is not. It is a Yam which looks in such way that is harder to peel and gets softer like potato when cooked. Here in Telugu states we term it as "Elephant Foot/Kanda"
in mumbai we call it suran. It tastes like fish sometimes
That looks fantastic. I would absolutely decimate a plateful; or even two, with mirchi ka salan & raitha 🤤
I miss my beautiful Grandpa who had a gorgeous smile. I love your smile😘😘😘😘😘
Hi Guys!!! This is interesting. I dont think we have this root in America. What does it taste like??? I would like to try it. It has good medical uses!!! Your recipe looks super yummy...Great Video!!!...Your fan&friend from USA...🇺🇸🦋

Welcome to grand pa kichen 🎉
Superrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr 👌
Awesome! God bless you for your kindness towards children.
I had to look it up. I guess its a type of yam 😂
yea in mumbai we call it suran. When i used to be vegetarian for a short time, i noticed it tasted slightly like fish . its also called elephant yam, But sometimes if not cooked well it makes your mouth feel slightly itchy at times
Hats off to your consistency in cooking and making videos👍🙏
Thank you so much 🙂
Wow that looked amazing and delicious and youshared with the community good job
That elephant's foot looks very similar in color to sweet potatoes, is the taste similar? Looks delicious regardless!
It does!
Good cooking programme
Greetings from Redondo Beach 🇺🇸very hardworking fellows to make food for the children. Nice video 🌷🌷
First man to cut alumium foil with a knife. Props for that elephant foot yam. First time i heard about it.
What a life...eating near farm fields peacefully..I am hopeful for atleast one day like that
You seen the movie quiet 2? It’s coming
I ate these vegetables, the called as Ollu in my native language Odia. These trees grow randomly, you have to dig beneath to get these vegetables. They taste good if cooked properly.
I didn't thought that it's just a yam/root crop😂Looks delicious.
Ugh thank godness it wasnt elephant foot or turds i swear for a sec i thought it was elephant poop😂😂
This comment section is hilarious.

my thoughts exactly😅🤣
Well done keep it up 👍
Thanks 😊
For a second there I really thought they were casually cooking an Elephant's foot 😅
Me too
so did I. had to look it up and found out its a type of Yam commonly known as suran or jimikand. is the herbaceous, perennial crop of south-eastern Asian origin and has attained the status of cash crop in India.
I got to say I was fooled thinking it was elephant foot, but after I see it was some sort of potato. Got to say loved the video, always something new to learn.
It is a type of sweet potato
Yam
A new granpa I see
Suuuuuperrrrrr😊
I was about to unsubscribe thinking it was real elephant feet!😫
To those still getting jittery about the play of words used in the title, yes the elephant foot is a type of yam. And from this channel, we can see the persons' culture forbids eating elrphants as they represent the Hindu god Ganesha, just like cows, Hindus and Buddhists refrain from eating those, and basically you will never see any persons of South Asian (SA) descent ever consuming elephant meat across SA cultures. Beef is basically consumed by Muslims, Jews and Christians there, though they may have individual preferences. Thanks!
Why don't Hindi's and South Asians eat beef, why is pork rarely ate?
@@johnshooter4763 based on my online research, it's bcoz a cow (or a bovine-like mammal) is associated with the Hindu god Krishna as well as several other components of Hinduism in many parts of India. Buddhists also avoid beef and any animal slohtring as they believe it is a way to achieve merit. Due to the collision of Hindu and Buddhist vegetarianism, meats are often avoided, with exception to mutton, poultry, and fish. Even so, it all depends on certain feast days of those religions too. Also joining the list will be Jainism and Sikhism too.
India is a multicultural, diverse, omnireligious country. And alot of the dietary diversity comes from a multitude of cultures.
Cow in Hinduism is a sacred animal, and represents one of their many Gods (Krishna). They are a legally protected animal across India. Their milk and dung are historically revered for fuel, shelter, and food, and an age old story that many Hindu’s would recite since childhood supports this reverence (Please, I beg of everyone to study and read about the many Hindu stories and passages! There is so much you can learn about the old world without you even realising. Some of them may even surprise you.) and to slaughter a cow is basically showing disrespect towards the providing cow and to Krishna. Buffalo is almost always served instead of beef in India, except for some few exceptions that are permitted to use beef for consumption for other religions, and very rarely will you see ANY beef like meat being sold in the south, south east, and south west asian perimeters. Most Hindu’s are vegetarians or vegan. Or are ‘eggitarians’ (vegetarians who still use eggs in their cooking, or even animal based dairy!)
Pork in Islam, Judaism, and even most older Christian religions is considered an animal that recycles waste, and consumes anything from faeces to human flesh even, or ‘bottom feeder’ animals, and is considered unclean for human consumption. The only reason you see Christians eat pork to begin with, is because of the western culture influencing the faith (As if that is a bad thing! You do you! Bacon is just bacon to most after all.) but Christians in the eastern half of the planet, will most likely be following dietary exceptions long forgotten!
Elephant is a no brainer. Not only is it a descendant of a Hindu deity (Ganesh/Ganesha), but Elephants were widely respected for transport, logistics, worship, and many many more. There are MANY stories of old about elephants in India and alot of southeast asian cultures, much of todays modern memory of India’s past is represented by these creatures. FYI because I see this misconception often: The ivory trade in India has long been banned and scrutinised, but you still have a handful of terrible people in the black hunting market who try their luck with these creatures (And nowadays, they often fail, and there has been quite a reduction in Elephant poaching for years since the modern outrage) . When Elephants were no longer used for labour in most places in India, some places replaced Elephants with donkeys, buffalo/cows, etc. depending on where you go. Overall, it’s safe to say that Elephant consumption is often frowned upon and for the most part illegal, as it absolutely should be. These animals are in danger right now, and India is doing its upmost best to protect them from further human harm with the help of a multitude of animal welfare charities and organisations. Be sure to support these beautiful Indian Elephant friends, and always vote against ivory trade/marketing if your country still doesn’t forbid it! ❤

OH Elephant’s Foot the plant phew
Star of David I saw there...❤
Is that a yam or something. I thought they were really cooking elephant 🐘 foot 🤮
Idea: Make a filipino food this time!!!
Are they like sweet potatoes?
Close enough if you've had sweet Potatoes similar enough.
after eating and touching this starts itching in hands ant mouth. how to avoid it pls suggest.
It should be washed at least thrice after cutting and before cooking. The itching will go once the yam starts cooking. Some varieties are very itchy compared to others.
Use plastic gloves while cutting and pour some hot water on top of it for easy peeling
❤
