After you mentioned square and tapered shapes, I went to check it on my Pocket. I now have a way bigger understanding, why the Pocket is my absolut favorite.
Wow this looks great, has everything i want in a radio: lots of flexibillity with the switches, compact design, white on black screen, 2s 18650 instead of 2 18350 batteries, cnc gimbals, and it now only has 1 usb c port. Definitely considering an upgrade from my zorro
Been waiting a while for Radiomaster to put out something like this. I even put off buying a Boxer because I was hoping for it. I think a stick cam might be interesting to see where/how someone else's hands fit on the radio, so I can compare it to mine and see if there are any dealbreakers that might prevent me from switching.
Fantastic review, Nick! Thanks!!! 😃 But I believe that "someone" tested it to 100km, but on a one way trip. I just don't remember if it was on 900mhz or 2.4ghz. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
It was done with the 2.4 GHz 2W Ranger module. Now, with 900 MHz and lower frequencies, you could go even further. It would be very interesting to test and compare the gemini system, but nobody is testing or attempting this kind of crazy and risky thing. Wesley Varty was the king of it.
Great review thanks Nick! Been thinking about getting a new radio, currently flying the pocket and I do like it a lot and have been considering the zorro too since I love gamepad style for the same reason you mentioned actually I don’t like flying squared up with the arms
Finally!!!! One usb c port to do it all. I want one just for that alone. The gimbals look good, thanks for the comparison. Maybe donate my Zorro and upgrade to this next year.
I feel the same way about the gamepad style of the zorro. I've got the zorro too and I also have the same feel holding it in my hands. I think the 18650 batteries and gemini are a reason why I would change. I could put 2x5000mAh batteries in there and that would be useful to quickly replace with another set of high capacity batteries. That's really nice. I dislike where the zorro batteries are and I think they're awkward to change. So I also have the goggle battery to quickly fit in when I need it.
Thanks, still flying my original TX16S I got years ago to hook up with my first drone, MJX Bugs 3 which still flys LOL, hope you let us know in a couple of months how it is working for you.
Shwing!!! the lack of additional switches is what has kept me from pulling the trigger on the Boxer. I have a few INAV quads and Im falling short on the switches I want available.
I feel like jumper and radiomaster are playing tit for tat at this point lol however i have learned my lesson to NEVER get a radio as soon as it launches because there will be several versions of it soon 😂 colors/ gimbals ect ect nice review nick👍🏻
There are already about half a dozen reviews for this radio that have popped up in my feed just this morning! Does look nice, seems to have a few features that are unique other than the Gemini being on board.
Yea, this sort of thing does occur when the manufacturer puts an embargo on reviews. The upside is there isn't a "rush" to publish and many opinions and information available at the same time.
Nick has got to be the best reviewer tbh. Nice fairly in-depth review with good camera angles, and he even goes over all the features in a great video format
May I suggest a video? I been flying the Pavo 20 and now the Pavo 20 pro for a while using the DJI controller, Im liking more and more the Hobbie so I was wondering what would be a good radio to upgrade to. I know there are plenty to pick from but a video explaining why would be nice.
Hi Nick, Does the distance between the end of the radio to the gimbal doesnt bother you(distance between the left edge to center of gimbal and vice versa on the right side)? Compared to zorro which has that distance very small
Does edgetx allow you to run internal ELRS 2.4ghz and external ELRS 900mhz module at the same time on older radios, or have plans to do so? I haven't been following the cutting edge for a few months now.
i really like the feel of a zorro too,, the shape is what i like and will be why i will not buy a gx12, still wish they made a v2 zorro with better battery, 1w internal radio, smaller screen, and these folding gimbals, that would be perfection... i used a zorro for 2 years till i switched to a hglrc c1 for a little more power and better batteries, and i just got the bumblebee, but it already has a few things i don't care for, wish it had gimbals like this gx12, these are really small and wish it had bigger latching arm , otherwise the bumblebee would be an amazing radio... as for this gx12, angle the sides and i'd get it.....
I still prefer the t20 to be honest, still smaller with full gymbals (can also be changed to ag01 if you cut one of the corners) and costs 80 euros instead of the almost 200 of this one. Feel like they really missed the mark with this one.
If pocket is 1000mW! I will eyes on pocket, but this... gx12. Its confirmed made for me...😅 im love with jumper t20, but too many probs with t20, so radiomaster is still my favourite...
I don't really like those tiny switches they break to easy I'm looking for a replacement for my rm tx 16s don't think i will just yet as there's nothing out there better 😅
by sticks do you mean the gimbals? If so yes, the sticks are part of the gimbals. There maybe a way to move the sticks to a new gimbal but I have not seen or read of anyone that has attempted that, so we do lose the folding sticks.
@@NickBurnsFPV I think he actually meant stick part not the gimbal part. On most gimbals you should be able to unscrew the stick and put a different one. So i guess the question is if you unscrew these sticks does the folding part goes with it or stays on the gimbal?
Thanks for the reply, I mean is the folding part of the stick ends or the gimbal? If you fully unscrew the stick ends and use custom ones like thumb grippies do you maintain the folding function?
i know MOST people say they never touch their screen and dont need a touch screen.. but since ELRS started making aircraft receivers i have started swapping a lot of my airplanes over.. and open TX menus already suck but its still WAY easier to configure stuff with a color touch screen.. basically i NEED the color touch screen that the T15 has.. i really like MOST of the features of this radio i just NEED it to have a touch screen for my use case..
I have been on the fence for a radio for a couple years lol I was about to buy the jumper t20 then a few versions came out then a new t14 15 ect ect its crazy how these companies are just playing catch up with each other rather than making a solid radio with everything on it Instead they offer a little on this one a little on that one 😂 jumper 15 is so far the one I want since I fly planes and quads just wish they'd offer it in 4in1
This does look interesting. But I just got a boxer crush and upgraded it with a pocket foldable antenna and I am very happy with that. This one kinda looks ugly imo
A single USB port! Nice move, radio Master.
Took them long enough.
@neuromancer692 you're not wrong.
I kind of prefer having the charging one on bottom and the data/simulator connector on top myself.
@@kurtzFPV but now (unless I miss my guess), You can charge and sim at the same time, through a single cableñ
@@notice_fpv probably so with an adapter

very interested on seing the stick cam added to the videos
I've been expecting a new Radiomaster radio to come out soon. Looks like a solid option. Yay for one USB port!

Of course Radiomaster has to release this after I already bought a T20 V2 and a set of AG01 gimbals, and modified it all to fit together lol
At least you didn’t go as far as the guy who stuck a ranger inside their t20 😂
Yes, a stick video would be good.
Same 😢
Getting back into FPV after becoming homeless in 2019 and losing everything.
Was eyeing the zorro but this just took its spot.
random info
looks like a T20S competitor. we are in a fast-moving hobby. 😂
I loved my Zorro but batt life killed me. This may be the one! lol. 90% sure.

@SkyMaxfpv Agreed. But, unfortunately governments don't like it. 😕

Great review. Nice radio, great price. The two anchor mount on the bottom looks to be for a radio stand. Thanks for the show and tell.
Finally!!!! One usb c port to do it all. I want one just for that alone. The gimbals look good, thanks for the comparison. Maybe donate my Zorro and upgrade to this next year.

Ah, finaly... the BoZorror.
Shout out to everyone grabbing their screen at the camera jiggle and high fiving Nick!

For sure. I suspect is nearly a business mantra to "keep an eye on the competition".
I wonder if the Boxer accessory metal stand will fit this
I would think so but can't verify as I don't have the stand.
Good review Nick
The mounting holes at the bottom are for a new accessory that is a handle/brace/display stand
Interesting, I do see that now that the webpage is up. Not seen something like that in use before. Maybe something those that fly fixed wing use?
@ probably, if I flew standing up more often I’d probably give it a try

@@EagleFPV43 your too kind. I appreciate the compliment.
I love my pocket. Zorro did feel good but the rubber fell off the batteries crap and having a pack outside would be unacceptable to my ADD.
Those screws for the bottom are prob for plane guys when they have the big platform for their controller. prob for future add on's

Looks like frsky sim radio and T20 combined together 😂😂
When are you going to announce the giveaway winners
Be patient...
Usually its 7-9 days after the giveaway
Hi Nick, Does the distance between the end of the radio to the gimbal doesnt bother you(distance between the left edge to center of gimbal and vice versa on the right side)? Compared to zorro which has that distance very small
I need square remote. ❤ Radiomaster
😮😮 look at this ❤
How does it compare in size and feel to the Jumper T20? It's my daily driver, but I don't like the tension, and I can't get it tighter.
The feel is more weighty or firm. The size is similar but without measuring I can't be more specific in size.
7 different videos from 7 different reviewers on my list
I should know everything about this Tx in a few seconds....LOL
Thanks for the review! Can anyone tell me, does it mean that the regular Elrs receiver HappyModel EP1 will not work with this remote?
elrs works with elrs. This gemini-x is has an additional feature to use with gemini-x receivers.
Does edgetx allow you to run internal ELRS 2.4ghz and external ELRS 900mhz module at the same time on older radios, or have plans to do so? I haven't been following the cutting edge for a few months now.
Yes, but so does opentx. We setup two different model files, one using the internal Tx and the other using the external Tx.
@@NickBurnsFPV And you can run both models at the same time? (900 &2.4)
Anyway. I guess if you want to do this, you would just buy a Gemini module though, wouldn't you?
@@kurtzFPV No, that is why Gemini-x is so unique.

Will it be your new daily over the zorro max you have been using?
I do discuss this in the video. In short I am not committing to that at this time.
I want a bigger high res full color screen
Already bought one, take my money 😭
Saaaame. Hate to do it after getting a TX16S so recently, but this addresses my gripes so well.

Are the gimbles full size? they look a little smaller to me like the zorro gimbles.
Yes, I believe they are full sized. I believe I mention this in the video but late in the video
@NickBurnsFPV thank you sorry I must have missed you saying it
No lbt Version ?
Can it still use those 4 in 1 multiprotocol external module? Like the iRangeX IRX4 Lite
yes, any module as long as its a nano that fits the bay/mount
Bomb drop remote
I don't need it at all, I have a nomad and my TX 16, the best of them all. But I think I should try this surprise box.

Competitor for T20.
I only want to see stick cam if you're a thumber!
Not senior enough to be named senior in my humble opinion 😂
They could have done a dual 2.4ghz instead of the dual band....
I really hate the way it looks.

I will never buy a Radiomaster in my life horrible service. They took my money and never delivered anything. Bloody cheats.
Any interaction with the company to resolve that you can add?
