I think assessments are necessary. The difference is that testing in the homeschool setting is free of all the pressure that is placed on the children in traditional schooling. The purpose of assessments is to see where the child needs help and that is very beneficial to us moms. Thank you for sharing! 🙏☺️
Correct, should be taken as another tool to help us parents see in which area they need more help, which means that we as parents can provide more accurately what they need to help them succeed in their subjects. Now that is a tool, we must not just let ourselves be carried away by that and we must as parents make notes and observe during the school year how they are developing with the material, what happened during the day in short, take note of the circumstances around the child. If the child has learning differences, all of that will affect how a program works or not. Thank you 🙌😊
We have not tested. My state does not require it. We also use Math-you-see and it is working well for us. Partly why we haven't tested, is because it is a mastery math and my kids would not know some things. I feel like the test results would be lopsided. I am glad you addressed this. I don't think I have had a homeschool mom who uses Math-you-see, talk about standardized test results.
Hi! I really like it because I’ve got to see how the mastery approach even though he is not on grade level really has worked for him. He tested really high and certain areas , concepts of math and the ones he has not done yet with Math U See like Geometry was little low, but compare to the fact that he has not done Geometry yet, he did excellent and still placed really advance with other math concepts. I really liked the fact that I was able to see how calm and patient he was while taking the test.
We love testing with this company!
Really good service, they were very nice.
