Moments before her big recital, Tricky realizes she forgot to change out of skate shoes. With her parents in the audience and a room filled with onlookers, Tricky does her best but fails to impress the heartless judge. Can Jake and Fresh somehow come to their friend's rescue?

Agreed. It feels like a breath of fresh air seeing a chill and competent dad character these days.
Theory-Tricky's father was born lower-class and used to be a skateboarder/street dancer before he married her mother and she made him give it up. He still regrets not fighting her on this, which is why he's so happy to see Tricky dancing like he used to and having fun.
OR-Tricky's mother was born lower-class (the heirloom necklace belongs to her husband's family) and she's very proud of herself for "rising above her origins." Which is why she's furious to see Tricky acting like any other street kid.
i believe the first theory. because in the third episode you see tricky’s family with the heirloom, and her mom is one of them. which meaning that she was born into a rich family. and maybe her dad was born lower-class but married to tricky’s mom.
