It’s perfectly fitting that you should trigger the module from the Poly-800. It’s not difficult to imagine some people had that configuration when both of them were new on the market in the mid 80s. That last sound seriously makes me wish I had our FB-01 module back. It isn’t even a sample/playback engine or a ROMpler, but that is one of the best simulations I’ve heard of a reed-based E piano (Wurlitzer or Hohner) I’ve heard.
I'm having trouble with the Ultimate Genesis Soundfont in that it doesn't sound like the Genesis =P Using FL Studio, I've moved the .sf file into the appropriate folder and, using the Fruity Soundfont Player plugin I load the soundfont into the project. The trouble is, is that is just sounds like default midi sounds, but I can't seem to work out why.
I've been meaning to upload a final GenesiSF/The Ultimate Megadrive/Genesis Soundfont video to this channel but I haven't gotten around to it. That is an odd issue. Generally speaking, I just drag the soundfont onto a track of the project and it just works. I've never tried loading it from within the plugin, though I imagine it should work the same way. Do you have a MIDI loaded into FL Studio? Did you load Fruity Soundfont Player to each individual track?
To my knowledge, I'm doing it all correctly as I have successfully used a different sound font without issue. I have seen a few others with this issue online, but couldn't find a solution that works for me (hence why I came to bug you about it ;P ). Such a shame, cos I totally adore the music of the genesis and megadrive! The only difference I have noticed (as I type this response) between the .sf2 files is that your one's file extension is in capital letters. I'll dig around and see if that difference is important. Edit: nah, didn't think changing that would work anyway!
Hey Cinos Modnar, I'm an amateur composer who's working on a small videogame project, I was wondering if you would be ok with me using your 8bitSF soundfont to write the music for it, we do not know if we're going to monetize it yet, so if monetization is something that changes the deal please let me know!
You can use the soundfont regardless of whether or not the project is monetized, just be sure to give me (The Eighth Bit) credit for its usage somewhere in the video game. :3
Awesome dude thank you so much! also I'll take you up on your offer if I need help, seeing as you're an actual composer and I am just a flutist posing as one :D

Also if you need any music help (doubtful since you're a composer too), feel free to poke me if you enjoy my style. :P
