    I haven't found a single tutorial that ACTUALLY explains how to build a rocket from the ground up until now. THANK YOU. I don't know why most tutorials think I want to know how to do tweaks and special things to it AFTER it's built like... no one explains HOW to build it and I am dumb so again, THANK YOU SO MUCH.
    Edit: I have 800+ hours in this game and have never managed to build and launch a rocket EVEN IN SANDBOX MODE there's little to no explanation in-game you're supposed to just KNOW I guess?? (Yes there are descriptions but again... am dumb. Wording gets confusing for my tiny brain)

      Yeah i think because the game is like 7 years old and there are many veterans everyone thinks everybody else have a php in it

    thank you for the rocket tutorial geared toward us space noobs. i've got hundreds of hours in the game and have never made it to rockets, before nor after the DLC. apparently there are a lot of players like me who never ventured into rockets, even with the DLC making it a more early/mid-game mechanic.

      It’s already a challenge to keep dupes from suffocating or peeing into water, let alone pursuing heavy industry and rockets for less experienced players.

    Actually, most people I know that play this game (including me) on a casual basis, don't have any clue how to make a rocket, mostly because there is no easy blueprint ready, you have all this parts and you don't have any idea which of those are optional and which are obligatory for the rocket to work, and since it requires materials so expensive and so time consuming, most people just go "nah I'll do it later" until they die at day 100 or less
    Thank you for making an actual tutorial and not a 80 minute stream or something lol

    That pool won't work entirely as intended as a heatsink! The principle is sound, but the shape is wrong. Rocket launch heat is applied to _every_ cell in the three-wide-by-nine-tall rectangle directly underneath the engine - _regardless_ of what's in the way. The platform takes up two tiles of height, the pool (and its mesh-tile top three more, and the insulated bottom a sixth - but that means you've got a 3×3 square directly below the pool that's going to heat up. You can prevent this by building the pool 3+ cells wide by seven tall (again, including the mesh-tile "lid").

    I still think rocket-building in this game is the epitome of weapon-grade tedium. It's not difficult, it's just a never-ending chain of chores defined by prerequisites that once complete, do not result in a satisfying payoff. I'd rather kill fifteen hundred Mangy Boars again in Westfall for a kidney drop-rate of 0.016% for a quest, because there at least I don't have to keep a notepad open while I'm knocking off items off of a list.
    Thanks for the neat CO2 collection trick!

    This is cool, I never even got far enough to reach the surface, and I also never knew about rockets. Might have to try ONI again

    I'll probably stick to sucrose engines because I dont wanna dig a massive cavity on one side of my map tbh

    • @jsephhd
      @jsephhd Год назад +1

      the cavity is just to reuse the co2 lol, you don't have to reuse it, i just let it out into space. Collecting co2 from dupes and power machinery is easy over time. With sucrose you either need a planet where you can dig it out or you gotta ranch

    I have uncovered the entire starmap but i've still no idea what the rocket port loader does. I've connected them to the rocket platform but no liquid/gas is added to my fluid storage module

    • @CristianoFerr
      @CristianoFerr Год назад

      the liquid is in the pipe is set on the filter on the rocket's liquid storage?
      Also, is the port loader connected to the platform? They must be side by side.
