I happened to think that when you have to change from one plane to another, due to maintenance or weather related issues, that's a big deal! It is like working in an office, at your desk, and your supervisor tells you, "Pack up your laptop and your bag, you are going five floors up ...and maybe you will have to go across the street!" Several times a day! You handle all changes with grace and maturity!
It’s like getting all of the things you need to survive for 3-4 days, walking a mile (sometimes), and then getting resettled on a new aircraft. Thank you 😌
Video was great. I’m sure I’m not the only one who appreciated how well you explained ready reserve and the aircraft you were on. Had to rewatch the reserve breakdown a few times but I got it now. This trip had no delays and reroutes. Keep pushing towards 10k babe! 💪🏾
I have recently changed airlines, side note I'm so much happier. I have a crashpad but it's a waste of money. I'm on reserve so I'm always flying. September I was only in the crashpad 3 nights the whole month so I'm watching your videos to gain some wisdom on how to move as far as hotels and using the crew quite rooms.
Hello there I have been watching all your videos and really enjoyed them. My daughter just got her offer to become a airline stewardess so I've been encouraging her to look at how professional you are and handle things including deadhead. I really hope she's successful at it, because she's leaving a great job.
Hi Stephanie, hope you're luving it so far! Hi Courtney! Hope to see you both out on the line soon!! I head to training on Oct 11th. So excited! PS: Your hair looks amazing ❣
I miss the flight attendant life! I flew for a regional carrier from 1977 to 1980. Passengers were nicer than they are today. We took pride in our food service and company culture. Back in the 70s the passengers were mostly men traveling for business. It was rare to see a woman or children. I don't miss reserve and I don't miss commuting. Hang it there - Don't loose that Southwest Spirit.
Thanks for watching! I’ve commuted my entire FA career as I was regional before my current airline. Commuting definitely sucks at times, just like reserve does. I accept it all because I chose this lifestyle and I’m definitely enjoying it 🙂
Hi Stephanie welcome to Southwest airlines good luck to you hope you have a RUclips channel too I want to know what is it hope it's about flight attendant life I would love to see it good luck on your new job being a flight attendant
I’m on reserve a lot. I always make sure to tell you guys. I just don’t really discuss the “ins and outs” of it all. It can be complex at times, but I’ll make sure to inform you guys more.
Thank you for explaining how reserve works with your airline! I was able to get my application in last week, so 🤞🏽! Maxx had to get his steps in! 😂 And Stephanie, you got this!! 🤗🎉
Welcome to the FA Family, Stephanie!! It does get easier so hang in there! 😁 I love your videos, Courtney! I keep hoping I'll run into you or we'll get to work together one day.
Hey Stephanie!!!!!! 👋👋👋 Oh how we miss Vegas. Hope to get there next year. You are rocking and rolling this reserve month Courtney! Again, thank you for all you do ✈💛
This was so fun to watch. If I had a room like that I would be a slam clicker😊. I got those same mask thanks to you. I see Maxx getting it in, you are appreciated Courtney. Hi Stephanie 😊
I’ve explained it in a couple of videos, but what that means for us is that it is specifically equipped to go a longer distance in between airports. An example for us is Hawaii
Good luck Stephanie! This happened: I was at the point in your video where you said ". . .update on my toe. . .when a commercial broke in! It was Halloween monsters with long monster fingers. . .just flashed in right at that moment 😲😂 It was funny -- I'm sure your toe is looking better than that!! 😉😄 I counted that you worked three positions: D, C and A. Did I miss or get one wrong?! Too bad Walter couldn't join you in Vegas! Be safe! See you next video!
Recently found your channel!! Love your vlogs. Super helpful for those interested in joining the FA life. :) Quick question (not about reserve) buuuut how do you handle any health issues that may arise, example: sick days, airplane ear, etc. Thank you for sharing your life with us
Thanks for subbing! I call off when I’m sick. I don’t work sick, period. I do have scoliosis and I’m mending a fractured toe currently, but I manage those issues as they come.
@@CourtTooFly Good to know! Thank you for responding - I wasn’t sure how sick days worked as a FA but that totally makes sense. Hope your toe heals soon!! 🤍
I love your videos. Are you pretty much “immune” (only word I can think of 🥴) to being on planes now? Like not phased by turbulences or any little sound the plane makes?
Hey girl hey, I have not seen you since you started there. How’s it going, this is Angel from Skywest, we worked in New York, 🖐🏽🖐🏽 to Stephanie, hang in there.
Can you explain how a zone chart works and how it’s put into effect? I assume it’s a way of distributing passengers throughout the plane (weights and balances). Just curious since your airline doesn’t have reserve seating, so wondering how this effects the boarding process.
You’re correct as far as weight and balance. The Ops agent in the terminal tells them to spread out and we flight attendants tell them areas to sit in during boarding. Communication is key.
Love your videos. I have just applied for a FA position and also have a dog. I would like to know at type of facility do you house your dog when you fly? How many days is he/she boarded? The approximate cost per day and what do you guys do on your days off?
Thanks! Friends and family watch Maxximus. He does get boarded occasionally and the prices vary at different facilities from state to state. I get an airline employee discount. Lots of playtime when I’m home.
Love your videos and thank you for posting as you work for my favorite airline. Saw you were on a 700 series from Las to Bur and listed 145 passengers. Was that an error or were passengers in jump seats? My understanding is that the 700 series only has 143 seats. Just wondering is all. Stay safe and thank you for sharing your adventures!
Reserve question: even though you get what trips are assigned to you when on reserve, do you still bid for a RR line each month? And, when you're trying to get home on your airline, do FAs who are commuting to work have a positive space above you for the jumpseat? Thank you! ✈💙❤💛
Both of your questions have detailed answers and I know they will be answered when you go to training. To answer your 2nd question, no. Jumpseat is 1st come 1st serve. The 1st question, we have primary and secondary bidding. Line holders (but everyone should) bid during primary and reserves bid during secondary. With secondary, there are no trips to bid for (unless you bid for a vacation relief line, you’re too new to even worry about that 🙂). I personally bid for days in order of AR, PR, and then RR.
You always ask to be released when you’re done with your duty. That includes airport standby and it could be any of the days you’re on call. The main reason you call to be released is because scheduling could add additional flying to your schedule.
@@SuperBestboy2 It depends on how many trips you have in the week. That’s up to you. Each reserve block is worth 18 trips for pay. If you work over that, you get paid the higher. There is also per diem that has to be added as well.
