      It’s a love hate relationship with tubes lol. I always dread making them and cutting tails but then using them makes me appreciate having the ability to make my own. I feel like big brands are lacking in their tube color selections

      I agree!! Tubes get used a decent amount up north for smallies but they are just as effective for largies. I use them a decent amount

    And I LOVE these hollow soft tubes, they make wonderful BIG catfish bait (holders)....Myself, I pinch a small hole towards head of bait as a vent hole and then with the aide of an emptied caulking tube I inject stink bait into the tubebait until it begins to exit the vent hole...this makes a method that holds the stinkbait in fast water while spreading the scent out to attract the fish....if used in calmer waters the smell may last for an hour or more before needing to be loaded again but I find that the fish quickly find this and bite in ON>>>>>>>

    Hey buddy. I recommend a pneumatic tube cutter. It will make shooting tubes fun again. Some pneumatic tube cutters cut 2 at a time. They are fairly cheap and are around under $300.

    • @N2TW_customlures

    • @N2TW_customlures
      @N2TW_customlures  Год назад

      It is a pain if your trying to make large quantities but for personal use it’s not terrible. They do make molds with splines on the rod so that it makes the skirt for you but they can get pretty pricey

    GP with gold and purple is my go to color. I have the same mold and same aluminum cutter. I mounted it to an aluminum can crusher and put a piece of thin 1/8" hard rubber under it that the blade can cut into slightly. Still never cuts them all and have to go one by one to make them decent. For my use tho.

    • @N2TW_customlures
      @N2TW_customlures  Год назад

      Cutting tails is such a pain sometimes. The can crusher is a great idea tho. I just smack mine pretty hard with a mallet and it cuts completely through probly 75% of the time

      The salt I use in the plastisol is the fine salt from Baitplastics. As far as the salt for packaging, any salt will work. I’ve even used table salt before but now I just use the fine salt for everything.
