Thank you so much for this video! I didn't realise that this great song had such inspiring lyrics.
Please keep going! Your content is necessary ❤
Thank you!
"Dem never know i kala tori mo fine check and balance everything inside" this means "they dont know that i am very strong and beautiful both on the inside" "kala" is a slang meaning "strong" you got everything right except that part
Kala is strict not strong. "They never know I am strict because I'm beautiful, check and balance what is inside me"
@@nmg1909kala is strong.
@@nmg1909kala is strong, firm, gallant, assertive.
Strict might be if it’s used the way the other words are you.
Thanks for explaining this comma song I really love it n I play it daily

Thank you for your videos! I am obsessed with this song and was super curious about lots of the slang used in it. Great explanations. ❤
you’re the most necessary content creator believe me
Aww🤎
good stuff... I think we can extend commas as metaphorical even beyond money. in fact she actually emphasized that point in an Arise News segment
Oh true thanks. What else did she mention?
I liked it what you did girl, thank you for explaining 🎉❤
You’re welcome ☺️
Asante sana! ❤
Nice work and well done.. Song is as much about money as it is about exposure, experiences and step by step growth - she still dey yahn street pidgin so that's the full context

Great analytical video!
Love it so much keep it up ❤❤❤
Thanks for the break down. Even though I do understand a bit of Pidgin I appreciate the explanation of some of the slang.
Thank you for this
Great work.. this is actually a cool thing you're doing because Afrobeats conveys Nigerian context that others dont know. songs are confused to be just bubble gum when there's a lot going on. Please find an Igbo reference (and Edo) so we can this across all songs. Just a suggestion but keep it up sha
Thanks and yes very true. I hope to extend to other songs that speak other languages but still working on that
Keep it up girl❤
Love the thumbnail 😂
Thank you 🤭
what a complexity of art for very simple lyrical concept. Black is intelligence ha!😉
Ha thanks!
Thank You
You're welcome
Wow that’s so interesting, thanks for translating. I love the meaning of the song. The rhythm is nice. I just couldn’t understand it. I’m Mexican 😊❤ Saludos 🩷🩷
Sabi girllll
😂
What does being a Sabi girl mean? What does Sability real stand for?
@@stavangernyambasi2497 + I think saber** shortened to sabi** by the Nigerians is actually a portugese word which is to know**........The Portuguese were the first Europeans to reach/colonise Nigeria before the others. They named the former capital of Nigeria, LAGOS because it was an archipalagos. (An area surrounded by lagoons)
Nice .... good dance steps at the end of your videos......❤
Lol! Thanks

E seun!❤❤❤🎉
You’re welcome 🙂
Sometimes uyabheda!
Smallie wey dey mighty...Is like the famous Shallipopi line Small body big engine!! Basically meaning they should not be judged by their size, they might look tiny but they have big brains and they do big things...at least that’s my understanding 😊 but thanks for this, girl!
Can't seems find tiwa savage ft young John and ayra starr stamina please give us that
Interesting. Without your insight I interpreted “commas” as a pause to make sure things make sense. 😅
Lol! Wait I never considered that 😂. I think it’s about money but girl I can be wrong lol
@@Simbihawt You're right it's about money
Me too
Hi, thank you for your explanation, I just couldn't understand why in the part "I'm allergic to isokuso" Ayra and other people who dance, make a sign with their hand squeezing the index finger and the thumb on the nose, here in my country when someone makes this sign it means that something smells bad so I didn't understand why this sign was used in this context.
Hey good question and yes you are correct. That hand gesture to your nose usually means something smells bad…you know how if someone with bad breath talks to you, you cover your nose because it smells bad? So Nigerians add a twist to it and do the same thing to a gossiper or bad-mouthed person (isokuso). We say that their mouth is smelling. Not from an odor/odour specifically but because poor choice of words are coming out of their mouth like the gossip, we want to block our nose from “smelling” it…I hope this helps
Well done. Good interpretation but I think you interpreted certain part of the song without taking into context what certain words meaning in Nigeria society; "smallie wey de mighty" refers to her small stature; that she might be small in stature but she's mighty/strong. In essence what she is saying is no one should underestimate her because of her size.
''Dem tell me make i Show love" in Nigeria context means to be generous. Perhaps people are saying she is stingy and not a generous giver.
"Check and balance" means she's prudent with her money.
Enery wrong I log off = if she doesn't trust you, she is out. Maybe people trying to dub her, so she recognises it quickly and ditch the person.
But like you said only the musician knows exactly what they are communicating.
Happy to be here , cuz I was just thinking I don't understand it 😂
Here to say, love the song more now❣️
What does Sability mean?
The ability to sabi. Sabi is slang meaning to know or to be wise/sharp/smart.
@@Simbihawt Thank you☺️
Na money pipo them norr
You are Nigerian nice to meet you
Nice to meet you too 👋🏾
wait, commas is a gospel song?
No where’d you get that?
Inspirational song, Nigerians sing about God even in the worldliest of songs. Probably in the top 3 most religious nation on earth.
One lyric mentioned God. Just one.
It is definitely an inspiring and uplifting though. But, a lot of people believe in a “god” and there’s a lyric line or two mentioning god in all types music. But, they don’t then go on to say that Jesus is their savior and how he they “worship him on bended knee.” That’s the difference.
She is beautiful in the video for this song and it’s giving positive vibes. She sings this amazing live as well! ❤ 🔥
Kala is being strict
Tyla stop copy Ayra please she is the original and you steal the grammy🙄🙄
I thought is only me that is see it
😮Me too😔😔
You guys are delusional. Tyla sings Amapiano and dances Barcadi. Both authentically South African.
How is she copying.
I love Ayra and I love Tyla and I think they both are great.
Please rest ijn
Y’all soo obsessed with tyla
Nice break down. The American Rapper FUTURE released a very popular song called COMMAS already. If her or her song writers were inspired by him they SHOULD PAY RESPECTS AND SAY SO. I hope she doesn't start getting weird and stealing other artist ideas cause I will NOT be supporting any of that low class behavior.
