Respect to Mueller for going to the fans instantly and try to explain what happened or whatever he said. He is a true sportsman and respects everyone - fans, players, opponents, refs, greenkeeper... everyone.
That's moments like this that make soccer the most popular sport in the world. It's like a fairy tale. A dreamy night from which the Saarbrucken fans don't want to wake up. Congratulations to Saarbrucken, from Brazil.
My home team with such a huge tradition which i support since more than 30 years and which caused so much joy but even also more deep pain. Felt in love 1992 in 1. Division, 2008 we played 5. Division. And now people from Brazil gratulate us. That's surreal. In the 50er years former Fifa-President Jules Rimet said: "1. FC Saarbrücken is the most interesting team in Europe." We played in Monaco and Milan and later in tiny villages like Roßbach. Speechless.
you're damn right we brazilians are congratulating Saarbrücken. Man, I really love this format of the Pokal, it brings a lot of justice into the table. Bigger clubs have more money, sign better players, but the ones in the lower divisions get their homefield as a rule. I would love to have it in our Brazilian Cup, but with 128 teams,. Our demand is outrageously high for just 64. Our cup had some of those aspects... now with bigger teams having the advantage to tie in the first round it's harder and harder for a lower division to go far. I remember when I was a kid seeing two second division teams winning it all. First one was a special case, Santo André. From the São Paulo metro area, they were in the second division and defeated Flamengo in the Maracanã. Flamengo, the biggest fanbase in Brazil, over 40 million fans, packing the Maracanã with 72 thousand plus. Santo André had a ton of guts. Paulista in 2005 was another great case. From the São Paulo countryside (a city named Jundiaí), only took first division teams out all the way to the trophy. I wonder how y'all are expecting the semifinal. And btw, what a nice little stadium y'all got. We have teams in Brazil playing in the first division that could give a call to Saarbrücken. Our stadia got better the last decade, but some teams still play in dumps.
@@otaviofrn_adv Thx for your comment. :-) Some nice cup stories from Brasil, interesting. All major Clubs should start in Cup in first round, my opinion.
@@stefanregel7185 It's not really possible for e.g. the FA Cup, where >10 times more teams enter each year and 8+ KO rounds are required. The FA Cup includes a ton of outright amateur players who could get seriously hurt playing against PL opposition. Beating the bye rounds is the process you go through to prove you can get play against semi-pros and not get your legs shattered. I think it'd be awesome for the FAC to start everyone from Round 1 (though this would then make it a 9 round competition, when 8 is already enough to stop Saarbrucken-level teams ever reaching the final), but I don't think it's possible. You either have a competition of small scope like the Pokal and it's awesome because it's more fair as everyone enters at once and there's a much bigger chance of upsets, or you have a competition open to the whole country (literally down to division 10) and it's awesome because of its scale and the chance that _your_ Sunday League team could _theoretically_ play a final in the world's most iconic stadium against one of the most historic clubs. (Still, I agree with your general point. The League Cup is like the Pokal and both are handled very similarly. The FA Cup, however, is globally unique AFAIK in its size, scope, and inclusivity, and that requires unique rules and handling. Actually, you've just persuaded me that we have the best of both and shouldn't abolish the LC.)
Scenes like this makes football such a beautiful sport. Delighted for Saarbrücken and their fans! The character shown to come from behind against Bayern Munich, as a 3rd tier side. Absolutely remarkable! 👏👏
As a huge bayern fan this hurt a lot. I wake up at 2 Am to watch my this game. My idol scored the first goal of the game, and then I just saw how lazy they were. The body language could tell how overconfident they were. Absolutely unfair. It’s not just tuchel or Kane’s problem it’s the teams mentality
And the fact that there is no plan behind it. Saarbrücken is not the opponent you would use to describe that of course but since Tuchel took over I can´t see any plan behind Tuchel´s type of playing.
im a Saarbrücken Fan and was there today. Absolutely insane. Were not doing good in the league and no one wouldve thought they could pull this off today. Everyone around me was in shock when the ref blew the final whistle.

Don't mean to be a killjoy and not a Bayern fan, but I don't think Bayern are that upset over it, less than an hour later they'll realise they're out of the 3rd most important competition to them, and they can't win it every year I suppose. While congrats to Saarbrucken but unlikely they'll go on to win it as these kinda teams usually aren't able to repeat massive performances like this, and there are still a number of very strong Bundesliga sides in the Pokal.
they advanced into semi-finals like 3 years ago but i guess its more the "kicking fc fucking bayern münchen out of the dfb pokal" for them rather than thinking about winning it.

Sorry; what is soccer - I only know football and by that I certainly don't mean this American handball game with an Easter egg.
Every country has some scenes like this every year, so it's already expected anyway.
