1985 the most horrific and ugliest Champions Cup.
Heysel disaster. FIFA organizers instructed to continue playing the final between Juventus and Liverpool, despite dead people on the sides of the pitch.
People died because of hooligans charging and a part of the stadium collapsed.
The referee then gives a Juventus a penalty from a foul out of the box. Platini scores and he and other teammates celebrate the goal despite the dead people and unfair penalty.
A disgrace of football.
We know where the true disgrace lies... www.theguardian.com/football/2015/may/27/heysel-stadium-disaster-30th-anniversary. "UEFA didn't provide a stadium good enough to riot in... " "It was the fault of the ticketing policy..." "Our fans were taunted..." Liverpool managed to offer plenty of excuses, but didn't even manage to send a wreath to the funeral of the dead. Far easier to blame passive entities than drunk, aggressive, vitriolic fans.
Still deserved for Juventus

They split up from AC, as AC wanted a team of English and Italian players while Inter’s side of AC Milan wanted an international team, hence why they are called Internazionale.
The fact that they are the only team in UCL history to start the final with 0 players (I know that Balotelli, Materazzi, Santon etc are Italian but were benched) from the nation that they are actually representing, is almost symbolic.
