- "'Paradise Valley' is a neighbourhood in South San Francisco. Without getting into too much detail, I used to spend a lot of time there even though I didn't want to. I used to sit in the hills and fields nearby, letting bumblebees perch on my finger so I could touch their fuzzy coats. At every moment in Paradise Valley, I had to reckon with my loneliness and my status as a social outcast, as a kid. And if you've ever seen the area of South San Francisco that the place is in, it's not particularly pretty or nice. It's sort of industrial and dusty and stuff. Far from paradise to me anyway.
This place has become an analogy for the reality of this mixtape, that despite the loneliness and isolation, it was simpler and somehow comforting to have no real problems weighing on my shoulders and no responsibilities to carry. It was a sort of strange middle place. I say that the 'valley poisoned me', though, because the sheer alienation I experienced led me to seek companionship and acceptance in a lot of the wrong places. For a long time after, the person I had become was detestable at the very least. My thoughts, actions, words, and priorities were so mangled from the people and spaces I chose to find community in. Comparing that with the friendship Pedro showed me, which - while rough and rugged in its own way, - was healthy and positive, an innocent far cry from where I would go.
I choose to remember Paradise Valley for the bees that I made friends with."

As someone who has never been to Paradise Valley, I've never been to Paradise Valley.
I have to pass by where I grew up almost everytime I go out, and I always listen to this song when I do. This song kinda resonates with that old, broken down trailer park to me. I'm not sure why. (Although from the description of this video, I guess I get why now.)
I Play a game Called Yume 2kki and there is place in that game Called Animal Heaven,It is bubbly and colorfull on the surface but is much darker and hostile if you search around it.I feel like this song fits perfectly with that place not only by its Flow but how "Heaven" is still a Heaven but not exactly for all.
Suddenly, the mixtape's title makes a lot more sense. It's always really wonderful to see how much of your experiences are poured into your music. This track is ethereal and so pretty. 💙
*YES,* probably my favorite track next to Brother Are You Proud of Me! The ethereal and almost ominous feel of the entire track is beautiful and your vocals are so damn mesmerizing. I definitely connect with the story in the description as well, it's nice being alone, but the feeling of prolonged loneliness is horrible. We as humans would rather be in pain than be bored, and being lonely can lead to dark places.
