    Tbh We've all complained about new/current clones not being like the OGs and sucking. But after a little while we all got used to them, I'm not saying I'm a fan of the holes at the moment, but everyone didn't like the new 501st troopers when they came out and now look! People (More or less) like it a lot better the before. And Lego is also experimenting with new clones we might have never seen up to this point (like the 187th Troopers). In the end, there's not much we can do, so I think its best to be grateful for what we have and what we're going to get. Without all the pointless complaining :D

    • @maroo3715
      @maroo3715 Год назад +3

      The company slogan is literally: Only the best is good enough, and to add to that LEGO is extremely expensive, so really they should make their products "perfect" and when the community is telling you that something is bad, then it probably is bad, I know that the holes are a good idea but please, put them in the right spot, so you do not have to mis advertise like in the new 501. battle pack. And also the non accurate prints on the Commander Fox and the Captain Vaughn and the 212. troopers are just horrible. Like really they are just making bad clone sets because the original 501. battle pack made them a lot of money so it is important to "complain" so LEGO will do something about it, which they probably will not do because they are just lazy and greedy.

    • @TheBrickPublic
      @TheBrickPublic Год назад +3

      @@maroo3715 You need to realize 2 things. 1. It's a company for kids. I know this sounds obvious but Lego doesn't care about what the older collectors think, they care about how many people will by these sets for their kids. If the kids talk about clone troopers or clone wars, the parents (or legal guardians) will go out and find any set that has clones or clone wars in the name. So Lego can be as sloppy as they want because they know that kids don't care if things are accurate or not, they're still going to play with them anyways, 2. SW is not their only theme. Lego have a bunch of other themes so they're not going to focus on one more then the others, which includes SW. Lego releases hundreds of sets a year, so they're not going to add the little details (and sometimes big ones) to every set they make. True they might be greedy, and they might be lazy. But we all still buy it, so if you don't like how the sets or figures are, then just don't buy them

      @@TheBrickPublic yes but what about the UCS sets for adults? And yes, I am not going to buy the sets, I did not buy the atte (even though it has a great build), I am not going to buy the gunship because from the leaks it looks like a bad set and the 332. battlepack I still do not know, because it is cheap, but it still sucks.

      As long as they do things right I wouldn’t complain. Fox is, at the moment, my least fav clone figure (recent). Why? They didn’t even try to make him right. I liked Cody, I liked all he other figs (except 212th trooper bc of the messed up print). Yeah we shouldn’t unnecessarily complain but some complaints are absolutely needed

    My opinion: Most of the people in the Lego Star Wars community don't care about the laziness of Lego.
    It either is because they just started collecting a few months or maybe one or two years ago, hence they will buy what is recently available in mass (which obviously is the newer style of clones with their what some people call "lazy" design flaws). Some may not know that flaws like inaccurate printing on the armor and missing kamas on specific figures exist because they only know the recent products.
    Or they simply don't care about the flaws because they are not as much into Star Wars as other people who criticise Lego for it. They may just barely recognize some of the clones from the Clone Wars TV show or from the movies where some of the clones are barely seen for a few seconds.
    The amount of people finding interest in Lego Star Wars has increased a lot over the last three years with a wide range of knowledge about actual Star Wars, some people may be really into it and some are just casually enjoying it.
    The problem is that lots of people keep buying Lego's products (even people who criticise Lego's flaws on their recent products) which confirms Lego in keep producing products in a lazy way.
    If we don't buy it and Lego doesn't gain as much money as they expected, they will most likely change something in favor for the consumer, e.g. we may receive more figures or parts for the same price, maybe even anticipated figures that Lego never made before to arouse more interest in their products.
    This worked out pretty well in 2005 with the ROTS movie sets and the new Battle Pack with lots of figures for a cheap price.
    Another example is the 2018 Battle Pack with two jedi and two clones in a cheap battle pack - even though Lego didn't understand the concept of the Battle Pack that year, they were generous enough to throw in two upgraded jedi in such a cheap set to arouse more interest in their Lego Star Wars sets.

    The biggest issue that LEGO Star Wars faces isn't the mediocre quality, it's the problem that Disney Star Wars, on the balance, has been terrible. It took several steps back with the sequels to begin with. Mando Seasons 1 and 2 were great (2 was great because it exploited George Lucas era nostalgia), but it takes a couple steps back with Book of Boba and the Obi Wan show. The franchise has lost a lot of fans. For now, LEGO Star Wars is fine, but if we get more bad shows followed by more bad movies, I do not think that the franchise will be able to be rehabilitated. A large number of fans are expressing the opinion that Ahsoka needs to be GREAT in order for them to stick around. Nobody even has the patience anymore for simple "mid" content.
    Here's hoping the franchise recovers. I think it will if Favreau and Filoni are left alone. I've halted all LEGO Star Wars collecting until I have completed Ahsoka.

    Step 1: Release some accurate but simple p2 clones around 2013-2014 to wet buyers appetites.

    My biggest issue is that the helmet holes make the print wacky. Take the 212th troopers. The triangle is in the wrong place because the pad-printer is not addapted for the new helmets. Same with the new 332nd troopers. The print is way of the fin in the middle of the helmet, while the older 332nd trooper without helmet holes didn’t have that issue.

    rp2 clones is just where its at undoubtedly . Overall just look the best in my view. For me they pass clone wars aesthetic by far good enough. Ik clone wars style is more to make a point of the animation. But rlly i dont think anyone would care. The dream is if all phase two clones were just rp2 clones always. But this is more a critique of the 2020 style, I think the clone wars style in its own right was fine. You had the phase 1 and 2 clone wars and rp2 styles both set of 2 which was good. The 2020 style just looks cheap, trying to think of a better way to describe it. But I guess they just seem like something that could be more akin to ali express stuff than rp2

    2005-2010 was the peak of LEGO Clones imo. They still had the cute LEGO aesthetic and were not overly detailed. Also, I don't think it's a bad thing to have the helmet holes for every clone because that gives the owner of the set more opportunities to customize their clones; they would not have to be limited to making named clone officers only.
    I agree with you regarding the scarcity of kama usage in LEGO Star Wars. Printed waist capes do not look good and are quite hard to imagine them as what they represent.

    Idk I think the complaints of lego being "lazy" is pretty hilarious. The sets, builds, and figures are so significantly better besides a few and i mean literally one or 2 a year if that as outliers. It really is only the die hard clone fans that are expecting a company who's prime focus isn't clones, to have the most insane eye and attention to detail for the clones. Is there room for criticism? always, and without it things would not be where they are today. But there are a lot of complaints that is literally just nitpicking and crying about the most insufficent things.

    What people fail to realize is that old clones troopers sometimes where as bad as current one’s prime example: Og P2 Rex, that rex is as inaccurate as the new Vaughn and fox, the old rex lacks the range finder too, but most notably the old Rex has tally marks in the chest plate and the legs even tho that is never seen anywhere also you mentioned the microbinculars being in the wrong place, that is not true that’s something bcc popularized with their inaccurate macro binoculars, the LEGO ones are in the correct placement you also mentioned how LEGO does waist capes for other themes and even Star Wars but not for clones, two very important things: no Star Wars figure has had a kamma or waist cape since 2020, second contrary to what @mandrproductioms and @lifebricks want you to believe the dreamzzz figure and Wanda are not meant to sit unlike clone troopers which do (ofc Rex’s case is inexcusable since it’s an 18+ set for adults and he is not meant to sit
