@@ToltecMerc I had a look online and indeed it's not expensive. I have the "poor man's" version, the one with the exposed fan. It's rated 180W but with some luck. It works but yours (which I've seen around as well) looks nice and professional!
Mouser, Digi-Key AliExpress, Kasyn Parts. The trick is to identify the parts you need. You have to do a lot of Google searches for SMD part codes and make a list of those codes and the corresponding part numbers. It's very time consuming but it has to be done.
Good job as always m8. Congratulations on reaching 10k. You will be at 100k in no time, and I'll be along for the ride! Have you been able to source that dnp014 yet?
Congrats on 10k! :) We have here a stubborn one :D as well. After replacing a south bridge, now I can't update it :D. I think it's time for the BWE or TheCod3r software next as no factory reset, nor updates are working on it ;). Really weird.
It's really super rare to find a ps5 with just the power supply broken. But what's even amazing is your trouble shooting the power supply too. Nice fix! I have to ask this. How many times have you accidentally zapped yourself while working on these power supplies (off camera or edited) 😅. Congrats on your 10k. You truly deserve it with all the content you do for the repair community. Loads of love and respect 😊. By the way I managed to fix one of the motherboard I wanted to send to you. All is good now. All I needed was some patience and troubleshooting by myself. It surprises me what I can do with a little patience. Best part is figuring out when even uart doesn't help. I'm proud of the fix I did thus far.
Congratulation on the fix! Feels great doesn't it! I have shocked myself a few times working on power supplies, it has not happened in a couple of years though.
Well done again my friend! You make this look so easy, you must have some kind of electronics engineering or some schooling or are you self taught? Cheers!
@@ToltecMerc I thought so, your logic of deduction tracing the issues of the actual problems shows that you indeed understand the function of the components. Keep up the great videos as I look forward to your new posts. Cheers Friend! btw I like to see some more Switch/OLED console fixes. :)

Great work, your videos have helped me in many repairs. I was wondering if you could give me some advice if I have an ADP-400FR where my positive and negative are short. fuses and mosfets are good.
I would guess the MOSFETs in the output are shorted. There are 2 MOSFETs in the output that are used as sychronous rectifiers. That is usually what goes bad if the 12V out is shorted.
@@ToltecMerc thank you for the reply but I never figured it out. Customer agreed to pay for a new power supply. Would you want to take a look at it? I have two different 400FR's
Good repair. A slim questions. How much heat, air flow and time do you use for rams? Im struggling with one number 7 Samsung, I swap it and working but the next day I wanted to test it but the problem come back and Already i have put to many mask on it and swap it 4 times that I almost want to give up but you achieve in the first time which is incredible.
I normally use a pre-heater to heat the board when changing RAM or South Bridge. By doing so, I can use 400C to remove/replace RAM. I find it works for me. Without a pre-heater, it takes more heat and there is greater risk of damage.
Interestingly I have the same PS where the mosfets blew and the fusible resistor is ok. 😅 Q3 legs look scorched but is ok while Q4 is totally shorted out. All this due to PS5 being dropped.
What hotair temp do you use when removing those from the power supply? the last one I removed popcorned under it due to the glue pulling up (on a ps4 supply)
I used 350C. I also add leaded solder to each pin and use a good amount of flux. I place a knife blade under the IC and gently pry as I heat. I have had them popcorn in the past as well.
@@ToltecMerc Hey, thanks for responing. My question is directly for PS5 launch models and PS5 Slim with the redesigned PSU. I'm asking in general for quality/topology of the unit and not "roaches". :)
Congrats on 10🎉🎉🎉❤love the channel My ps5 disc drive wont take any cd...I have to realign it then it would take the disc and the moment i eject the disc it keeps making a grinding noise...i have check all the f5402 f5401 fuses...Some components i dont hear a beep on the disc drive logic board...im a bit lost can you please suggest me a repair?
Make sure the gears are aligned properly inside. There is a plastic post that has to align properly in a plastic gear. It will easy get out of place if the drive is disassembled. Also, make sure the top screws in the rubber grommets are in place. The drive inner workings are suspended from the base of the drive on those screws. It won't load properly unless they are in place.
I have a dead ps5 with a broken torn fan connector. I wired in an external fan controller because the pwm was torn too far back to repair. (I attempted the repair) I get a beep when I touch the power button but that’s all. I’m afraid I shorted something while attempting the solder repair. Can I hire you for the repair?

The dead ps5 is the worst thing ... GOOD JOB
Roaches also sense the electromagnetic flux of power supplies. Warmth and that near a steady food/water supply.
Thanx master ❤️🇹🇷

I think the PS4 and PS5 supplies are very similar in quality. Roaches kill both equally.
