A consistent schedule is much better. I watch and think of youtube channels just like TV programmes where they’re scheduled to be on at certain times. My ritual is having dinner sat on the sofa watchin that day’s vlogs (Amelia on Sundays, Josie on Tuesdays, Ali Gordon on Wednesdays etc). They don’t have to be long in length, I would rather a 20minute video twice or once a week rather than an hour long one, once in a while (but the longer the better 😆). Victoria McGrath and Sarah Ashcroft for example are really bad with consistency, it seems they never vlog exiting things they do or home style vlogs, they seem to just poorly put together a rushed vlog as and when they are contracted to do a sponsored video which makes it seem they don’t enjoy providing content for their viewers and are only using them to make money. Yes, we get content for free but we use our valuble time to watch them and carefully choose who to spend our time watching which in turn gives engagement, views and ad watching to the creator which provides them with success. It’s my bug bear when creators pretend to care for their viewers and pretend to love vloging just for the fun of it to years later, make loads of money and get succesful brand parterships and drop vlogs because they don’t need the money anymore. I don’t buy the excuse of not having time as people like Tamara travels almost everyday, is at a diferent fashion show every other day but makes it her priority to vlog it all by paying someone to film her and follow her around. Victoria is happy to spend thousands on new coffee machines once a year, a new fridge even though hers was fine etc yet won’t put her hand in her pocket to employ someone other than her husband which doesn’t catch much content at all 😬. I think it’s a good idea to have a couple of vlogs in the bank for emergencies. Like say you’re super busy one week or don’t feel like being in front of the camera, have a vlog ready to post thats pre-filmed, like a Q&A, hair tutorial, room tour or self care routine. You could always write in the description “this was filmed a couple of months ago but would rather upload this than nothing at all”. I think the saying “quality over quantity” doesn’t apply with vlogs. I’m sure viewers would rather see something than nothing. Timing is also important, say 5pm or 7pm for example. Imagine looking forward to seeing the new episode of “Line Of Duty” and ITV just didn’t show it. It would come across really strange and unprofessional. I think you should view your channel as an actual channel rather than instagram stories where people upload as and when. It’s what will set you apart from the rest. A perfect example is Josie (Fashion Mumblr). She is as professional as they come, consistent, punctual and I think it’s why she’s become one of my favourite creators. She seems to love her viewers so much, she’ll admit in some videos she’s not up to filming but does it anyway and I really appreciate it and watch her vidoes religiously in return. I feel we don’t miss out on anything in her life because she treats us like genuine friends. I’d be interested to know who everyone else watches, what they like about their content and routines etc.

And thank you for mentioning Victoria McGrath, I had to unfollow, her videos are erratic, often feel rushed and when she did push out a video she was just squealing and so annoying the whole time. I really wanted to like her but you've hit the nail on the head. Regular day, time and consistency is everything 😊
I like a schedule...I look forward to seeing my favorite influencers and make time in my schedule to view their content...if their posts are erratic , I often miss them which is a shame because I know a lot of work goes into maintaining a social media platform.

I don’t mind if you post videos late or the following week because my life is so hectic with work and Uni so I don’t have the luxury like others to watch shows everyday or on a regular routine. Whenever you post, there’s no pressure from me on a set time, I’ll always watch them (eventually) whenever you upload

To me it really is not about when you post and I certainly dont count how many videos you put out a month😅 Contrary to many others in the comment section I think that if you post regularly almost as if it is a duty then the viewer will get to know that you were stressed and it doesnt look natural. I think a vlog is much better when the viewer feels that the creator is doing it with all their heart. So to me actually quality is way more important than quantity. If a viewer does not care about your mental state and of how stressed you get then simply they dont see you as a person but rather just as commodity which produces videos lol Of course consistency is important but I would much rather watch a vlog you had fun creating rather than a monotonous one that you look stressed in but its uploaded on time 😆 As a viewer I get to know if someone is not prioritising RUclips or is not genuine about it, but it doesnt have to do with the numbers of vlogs a month ❤ Keep up the great work Kate 🥰
