It was the main thematic struggle in the Pain arc and most possibily why most fans agree to be the pinnacle of Naruto. And Sasuke was the character to experience various perspectives of the ninja world, of what's right or wrong, what's punishable and what isn't, what's power, what's love, what is his reality, and ultimately be the aglomeration of different questions against Naruto's way, thus the final struggle. Then aliens plots come in. Marketing is something ugly indeed
