I don't think Christian Laetner was overrated...Everyone knew he wasn't gonna be a Top 25 player ever ..and when he got to the league he average 18 and 7 rebounds and later became an All-star but when your a PF in the league With Charles Barkley, Malone,Kemp,Coleman ,Webber etc . It's hard getting noticed
That frequently happens. You can be an amazing, dominating player at one level and not good enough to shine or even make it at another. Laettner, Hurly, Morrison, Fredette, O'Bannon, etc. And then you have players who go virtually unnoticed and absolutely kill it at the next level. Pippen, Malone, Kawhi, Rodman…
King Krossover No, he should have... It was statistically his best year, and there was little way he was going to improve over the year he had. He was a mid 1st round pick and now he's lucky to end up a 2nd round pick
yuch1102 I think it was because they looked to be be favorites to win the national championship again so he stayed? That's the only reason I can think of, since his draft stock was really high and was a favorite for POY
TheHilltopperNation His draft stock was non existent. NBA Scouts are not interested. You can research this for yourself. it was not a 'choice' to stay, per se.
That's right because if someone steps in his landing space he will really get hurt like that plus he kicks his feet out with the intent to kick somebody. That is not going to cut it in the NBA. He needs to try to come down on his feet. Instead of crunching his legs up. He need to extend them down for a landing. Unless he stops his devious habits, he's going to be benched, or hurt.
fxrsniper1 ima have to disagree I wouldnt mind having reddick shoot the final shot down 2 he’s hit a lot of game winners I’m pretty sure he was teamed with Dwight Howard in Orlando where he was fantastic
I think he's just trying anything to stop the opponent, including using his feet. It doesn't look as much malicious, as it does a little desperate. To me it shows he has a lot of heart, but he will have to learn to channel that, because he already has a huge target on his back for Refs, Fans and Opponents.
Great comment, I agree 100%. I think towards the end of the season a lot of teams were trying to purposely set him off to do something stupid but he did a good job not taking the bait.
Hit Detection I'm sorry but in no way does repeatedly tripping opponents "show a lot of heart." Heart is Isiah Thomas playing an entire half of basketball limping and scoring 43 points that game. Intentionally tripping opponents on multiple occasions only shows he is a sore loser who does a worse job at controlling his emotions than 10 year olds. This isn't even all that shows his complete immaturity. He constantly whines and he's been known to literally cry on the court. Sure he's a great basketball player, but this is the furthest from heart that anyone can get.
Kibum Park Yup your completely right a professional who plays dirty is considered a "wily" veteran...And a college kid who plays "dirty" is a dirt bag I think it's do to the whole honesty n amateur student athlete image.
you obviously aren't following basketball regularly lol. if someone tried tripping someone in the NBA, they'd be blasted for their entire career. name an NBA player who has done it without being instigated directly and not been blasted for it. draymond green kicks people in the nuts and he gets called being dirty for that all the time
Balanced and unbiased argument bud good work, agree with everything you say. If I were Allen I would switch off all media next year I mean basketball programs, twitter, facebook the whole lot, they were gunning for the guy non-stop purely for ratings purposes. It was vicious and brutal at times. Not saying he wasn`t guiltless but he`s still a kid and learning his trade. All that media coverage was unjustifiable.
Don't put his childish bullshit on girls. His behavior is seen in men just as much. You think men don't get upset when their getting shown up your fool.
Update: Hey guys thank you for the support on this vid. Unfortunately, there won't be a video for second straight Sunday because of school stuff I have to finish up. It sucks, but I've just been too busy. I'll be back at it soon though, so be on the lookout! TPK
You should do a vid on how D'antoni CHANGED THE LEAGUE and how every coach is running HIS SYSTEM. The small ball run n gun engineer himself. MIKE D'ANTONI. Easily one of the most UNDERRATED coaches of ALL TIME. Thank you.
MrSodaBelly He's coached for 16 years and has only made the playoffs 7 times and has never even sniffed a finals game. A good coach for sure, but not an all time great.
I love this kid.... He have a lot of space to improve and more swag in the NBA. This kid is most promising future much better to concentrate with skulls more practiceake him a legit pro player.... Wish you will go here in Philippines near future....good luck boy... Zenkiboy
If you play for duke and you're white, unfortunately yes. He's a kid and he has to grow up like everyone else. Let's see how he handles his SR year. Plus he has a degree from Duke, I think he'll do fine in life. He has to clear this hurdle.
Look at all the missed shots, he sort of leans back a little and they end up short as a result. I also note that he is using the antiquated step in to set for his shot and that he shots the ball from the position it's caught at. I would start with him by working on hoping into the catch which would have the advantage of setting his base, uping his consistency and not limiting him by taking away one of his feet to start the dribble off of. The second thing I would work on him with is leaning into the shot instead of away from it, that will chip away at the short ball issue. The third thing I would have him consider is pulling the ball down into a comfortable spot before going into his shooting motion, this will again help him with the consistency issue but it will cost a little bit of speed; I would do this last because the step in motion also slows down shooting, if he uses the hop instead the speed change should be close to a wash.
He's going to have s tough time if he keeps tripping people cause they are going to get him back. Plus he is not going to be able to run up on the basket and make shots as easily as he did in college. He going to get put on his back. When he jumps up to make shots he's kicking his legs out. He won't get away with that in the NBA. He may get his legs broken. Those guys are professional and they know how to get him while he's doing that. If someone steps in his landing space. He could get seriously injured. So if he keeps kicking his feet out like that he's going to get hurt for sure because of the way he's landing. The NBA guy are bigger and stronger than the college players.
Wow. Very deep thorough analysis. Yet I did not see much difference in his superfine jump shooting form - it seems consistent under pressure off balance and the like. Anyway, thank you.
Dude can I just say, the content of this video is on point, the footage is great and the length is nice too. Just put a little bit of energy into your speech, let us know you're a little bit excited. I'm sure you're passionate about the game otherwise you wouldn't be making these vids, let us know with a bit of expression and enthusiasm in your voice. No hate just constructive criticism, I definitely liked the vid and am a subscriber from now. Keep it up.
I really dont see how people overlook him tripping players randomly and intentionally not giving players space to land on offense. That is not basketball and how he gets away with it is a mystery.
I think he needs to find a step back midrange jumper. He doesn't always have to go straight to cup... Defenders are basically forced to give that shot away to defend him
He needs the complete trust of his coach. He needs to know that everyone thinks he's a good player. He needs unconditional unwavering support from ever guy on that roster. He needs to know everyone believes in him and that him making a mistake won't cost him their trust or belief.
I think the kid is very passionate about the game he is a true basketball player in basketball just comes natural to him and his passion seems to get him in trouble but I respect the fact that he wants to finish school I think in the long run that education is more important he will be a NBA basketball player though
He reminds me of Gordon Hayward with the Jazz, I like Grayson Allen, but he just needs to learn how to control his emotions and instead of getting angry and tripping people, allow his anger and emotion to flow through him and allow it to fuel his game and ignite him. if he can do that I really can see Grayson in an nba all star game for a few seasons and possibly on a championship team.

he needs to fix how he falls. the landings are just going to lead to an injury
free hodge it'll lead to a MCL/ACL injury and that will lead to knee and future ankle problems.
Yes, falling under control. Not falling horizontally off a dunk almost hitting your face on the ground.
theydidntnameme if he knows how to break fall properly he's fine
The reason why d rose is now a okay player
cgieverything the way D Rose lands wasn't how he got his worst injuries tho
he's like D Rose when he lands. I'm over here like damn this guy wants to break something with those landings lol.
JicksKicks I'm a Duke fan, but he went from being the greatest college basketball player possibly ever to being a letdown pretty much
That frequently happens.

JicksKicks wrong
Best post Iv read all year
He should of went to the NBA
after his second year.
Nah, he was good but not nba ready. He needed the experience
King Krossover No, he should have... It was statistically his best year, and there was little way he was going to improve over the year he had. He was a mid 1st round pick and now he's lucky to end up a 2nd round pick
It baffles me why he didn't...staying an extra year you always at risk for injury or doing worse
yuch1102 I think it was because they looked to be be favorites to win the national championship again so he stayed? That's the only reason I can think of, since his draft stock was really high and was a favorite for POY
TheHilltopperNation His draft stock was non existent. NBA Scouts are not interested. You can research this for yourself. it was not a 'choice' to stay, per se.
He's a good player but why does he come down like that after a dunk he's gonna get injured
Letting your body fall is actually the best way to land unless you want to end up like Derrick rose
Alpha Tarawally I still can't believe that shit .Rose was suppose to be Elite for years to come , that injury fucked him fr fr .
EVERDAY PICKUPS true
Fuck u mean he's gonna injure his face
Not out of control like that. Off a dunk he should hold onto the rim until he can land more predictably.
His landing after a dunk is a lot how Derrick Rose use to land. Unfortunately , if he doesn't fix his landing he is gonna get injured.
This channel is mad underrated and will blow up soon! Yo TPK, don't forget me when you make it big here on youtube!!
thanks so much man, I'm glad you enjoy the videos!

he will be in the 2018 draft i know it
just like draymond. active feet
This year's draft was too stacked. He definitely wasn't getting on a team in this draft.

Thanks

What happened to the audio of this video? It’s kind of choppy for some reason, but it wasn’t the case in the past
Treyvon Duval or Tremont Waters (forgive for the spelling) will help Allen tremendously. Allen better hope Duke lands one of them.
That intro is so trill
I tried to watch this video but I couldn't unhear your lisp.

He reminds me of Gordon Hayward with the Jazz, I like Grayson Allen, but he just needs to learn how to control his emotions and instead of getting angry and tripping people, allow his anger and emotion to flow through him and allow it to fuel his game and ignite him. if he can do that I really can see Grayson in an nba all star game for a few seasons and possibly on a championship team.

he might have sucked in the nba if he decalred last year, considering his level of play this year at the ncaa. how much worse would he have been?
Random he actually probably would've been better. Better training and stuff.
Random still he would have the opportunity to train and gain skills In the pros
Yeah but if he was in the NBA he would be a millionaire already, don't know why he didn't jump at the opportunity
He’s not that good.Players with his skill set are a dime a dozen. What does he do that any other talented SG can’t do?
