The problem with supposed new Trek is A) The new movies were all just action films with no morals connected to them. Change the names and costumes in them and there is nothing left to trick people into thinking they are Star Trek. B) the "woke" problem is not just that they are hitting the audience over the head with their agenda (see decline in Marvel and DC and Disney for leading that march), which is certainly true, what's missing entirely is the pushback in the show. The whole point of a good Star Trek was to see the characters hash out the good and the bad and you as an audience member would hopefully side with the Federation and not the Klingon Empire. The new show doesn't allow for debate (shocker right?) it's just do it this way or you are a (fill in your favourite -ist and -phonbe). The old show was NOT woke, it was exploratory with thoughtful debates, woke is BELIEVE OR ELSE!!!!!!
