My Comment. I notice everyone is driving different versions of the Toyota Land cruiser. Troop carrier or Twin cab, and why because they just work. Trialed and tested throughout the world. Best remote touring vehicle in the world. Daylight is second.
Thanks for the maintenance tip about the snorkel sock (Uni filter). I will be getting one. I laughed when your mate was pissed when he saw your opened Air Box. Uni filter snorkel sock sales doubled after watching this video.
We use the same snorkel sock and a Unifilter and re oil with Penrite Foam filer oil in a spray can. The snorkel definitely prevents a lot of dust getting to the main filter. We also carry a spare set of oiled foam for the Unifilter which keeps the air box perfectly clean in the lid. Wash both of them in Turps and rinse with water. Oil the filter seal too.
@@OverlandTravellers I have used the Unifilter for 6 years and nothing gets past and no issue with the MAF sensor but do give it a squirt every now and then. Thanks matey.

Cool Ep Guys to some top spots, I love the Cape I first went up in 1982, I've done 21 trips up its my favorite place in Aus I been to so far, I had 4 weeks fishing above Weipa this year before I did the gibb.
Cape York is on our bucket list. We will go one day but we will take the easy way lol. Thank you for another awesome episode, this part of qld we haven’t seen yet. You guys made my Sunday morning ❤.

You need a bowl type air filter on the snorkel in dusty conditions.I carry one ,not much room,easy the empty and you can see how much dust is in it out the windscreen as you drive.Have had one since the 1980's..........no brainer.🙃

Cyclonic top for the snorkel, seperates a lot of the dust and water before it enters the snorkel, no filter sock to clean, plus old school looks 👍

Rear facing snorkel is the go. My group has found them to suck in less dust and crap. Even less than cyclonic and Mexican hat.
