I'm 37 years old. I have a full time job, a wife, and an infant son. I don't have the time to play Rust like I used to, but these videos are infinitely more enjoyable. I probably have more hours watching Willjum videos than I do in the game at this point.

As a solo cave dweller, some cool things you can do with this cave:
1. Set up a branch off from the solar panels above, before the rest of the circuit and batteries. Hook up a light to this, and now you know whether it is daylight above if the light is on!! If you are using a windmill you still will want at least one panel for this.
2. Transfer loot from one side to the other in the event of a raid on either side with industrial. You can even trigger it from the opposite site and "suck" loot to you with a little setup.
3. Automated turrets that hide behind doors you can control with buttons or automation to defend the main entrance of either side
4. Maximize your battery system by letting both sides feed into each other in series in the event the topside base is raided. You can automate this as well.
5. Automation related to the topside base being raided-like having a huge swath of generators that turn on in the event flow is stopped from above. There is a lot you can do with this. The raiding strategy will always involve taking out the top base first so having backups is important.
6. industrial loot to cave from topside base and back up if someone is camping inside the cave so you can send kits up without risking them sitting up there all the time.
7. USE A DIFFERENT DOOR SKIN for the topside base and make it look as different as possible to your cave wall skins etc. Not everyone knows that what you are doing down there is possible. You want it to look abandoned and at the same time not worth it.
8. If you hug the wall correctly on the ledge by the spike trap you don't need to jump. The spike trap is also how you know it is this cave type.
9. If you are trying to be secretive about where you live, like when he died before he went to bed and ran the other way to pretend he didn't live in the cave, don't wear miner hats all the time. Even a mildly clever opponent will figure it out pretty quick.
If I think of some more ill edit the post but this is by far the most awesome cave in the game.

Or for 1. just cop the skull candle light from rust marketplace and use that, only powers on when it's night and it costs nothing to run.
It can go if you stick it to foundation half way and connection is below surface
@MrJimmyluck the terrain rocks of the cave do not count as walls - you can send industrial pipes through there just like you can do with cables or water pipes. you just need to have an exposed foundation on the topside base just like willjum had in this video - otherwise you'll need to bring the industrial pipe outside your door and then people will see it goes into the ground

I've been following Willjum for years now and this base is my all time favorite! I tried so many times to bring electricity to a cave like this and never managed to do it. That was just awesome!
There are other caves you can bring power to, you just need to make sure you have the top cavern and the bottom two :)

if you run your water catchers in parallel you get higher flow rate. Also drains the water catchers evenly, A full water catcher dosen't catch water when full.

Willjum, one thing cave base needs is turrets. One turret in cave, facing bucket (as enemy has 33% chance of standing up after the fall) and on ground one (or two) facing the cave entrance to kill campers. For best result remote controlled door on the turret which you can open from cave when going out.

Great video Willjum, and I love rust, I just can't play it very well due to motor control in my left arm not being very good from an accident (that is all I'm going to say), so being able to rapidly switch to a barricade to take cover, or switching from gun to bandages in the heat of battle is a challenge, but the ability to aim with my right arm is just fine, which is why I tend to stick to the role of sniper, and farmer.
Have you ever considered a mouse with thumb buttons? I always have my first 2 inventory slots bound to those keys.

It’s a color overlay he is using post recording of the video in the editing process. So the viewer is able to see better. Also it could be an overlay he has for the daytime time that he forgot to switch to the night time. Either way this was done post recording not in game.

There are a few simple tricks you can do to maximize what little water you have for farming. Pulsing sprinklers (2.5-3s depending on what works on the server) and using splitters to only feed them 1ml of water.
