Pretty impressive results from the little gun Dave! Nice core pattern density that should do a good job on birds, and I'm sure you'll put them where they need to be. Looking forward to the .410 shoot video coming up. Thanks and best regards of the Season.
Another very interesting film. 18gms of 6 only has about 170 pellets. The central patten was very good and would clearly kill a bird if it was right in the middle of the patten. In the hands of a very skilled shot these guns and loads can be effective but for less skilled shots and youngsters much more difficult to shoot well.
very well said and i agree wholeheartedly about the skill factor!! for me the 410 will always be weak in the average shots hands, it is definitely an experts gun with very little compromise, i would much prefer youngsters to learn with 28 bores although there is a growing demand for 410 days.
very interesting dave, good film.our son jack, who you know,is hopefully having his first day of driven shooting in january with his 20 bore, keep up the good work getting youngsters involved, youre a gentleman👍👍
I have noticed that here in the States there are a few 3/4 oz loads available from Winchester. I think that comes out to 21 grams ( not sure ) and they pattern great !
The thing to remember about any shotgun, but especially a .410 is that the pattern plate isn't the whole story. The .410 has the longest shot string of any calibre, and the target moves through it. Could you run under a shower and not get wet? I use these Gamebore Huntings to good effect when I use my little .410 now.
Hi Dave. Love these little pattern testing vids you do. Please can you test a 28 bore, been using one myself and blown away with how capable it is. All the very best. Have a great Christmas.
i was led to believe the others were better, i have never tried the others so cannot comment either way, what i can say is that the gamebore loads performed a lot better than the home loads someone gave me
@@DaveCarrieShooting really that's very interesting all ever hear is that home loads are better because they are more precisely made than factory loads just goes to prove you can't believe everything you are told
Such a great video. Cheddite have a 24 gram load on the market and I’d like to see how it performs on the pattern board. Absolutely fantastic to see you promote small bore shotguns, keep up the good work!
Well, funny you should mention those - a few years ago I had 1000 of those, and because the wad is very thin cork, 10% of them when fired, the shot basically wouldn't hurt a fly. However, they were brilliant when they worked, and I hit a 50+ yard looping clay easily.
Another great video Dave and I'm glad you're bringing 410 to Forefront so people can see what it's capable of I started out many many years ago in Michigan using a 410 there's nothing wrong with them and the rabbits and pheasants of Michigan can testify to that fact
Thanks for that Dave, I have just bought my 10 year old son a 410 bolt action for Christmas, its old but its a starter I reckon, it says the chamber is 2 1/2 ", does that mean I cannot put a 3" magnum into it, kind regards John...
Sorry from America here, but what is a quarter choke? All 410' s here usually have fixed full chokes. Sometimes an extra full turkey choke. Rarely a modified, improved cylinder, or cylinder bore.
thanks 😁 i will take that as a compliment as Fred was a super human being, i think 410 shooting with steel will be very very limited- steel will almost kill the 410 loads, i would think our American friends will have a very strong anti steel view where 410 ammo is concerned and they are the experts on 410 loads
Enjoyed your video. I cut my teeth on a 410. Shot my first duck goose and pheasant with an old Stevens bolt action of my grandpa's. They were 3 inch loads of 6 shot and all 3 were stone dead at about 30 yards. Were those 3 inch or 2 and a half.?
Not really!! but these 410 days have become more popular since my first film!, i want to impress on people to make sure they have an adequate load for the job and hopefully only using them on appropriate game for this little caliber, these affordable days are definitely the way to introduce more people and especially youngsters in to the game shooting world

thanks Edward, they did their job when put in the right place
Impressive pattern test.

Great video Dave !! I love shooting the 410 at clays and game also. Look forward to seeing more in this fantastic Gun.
Thanks - it is "i must admit" very enjoyable

they say the American 410 loads are very good
@@DaveCarrieShooting They are also more suited to guns with SAMMI proof markings as they differ from CIP ones.
Great video again I am very impressed with the .410
Thanks JM

Thanks Steven and have a great xmas yourself
Very under rated the 410 I find the gamebore loads a bit less power than the Hull and fiocchi ones they're my go to load for the 410

You are correct Greg a great little gun but needs an expert hand

improved cylinder
Impressive! Any plans on doing a 28 bore test in the future?
definitely planned Alun
Good
410 and steel and game? Opinions please and you're the Fred Dibnah of the fieldsports imo.
