Reardon the best all-round player of all-time. Consistency, temperament, potting, safety, creativity, longevity, tactical, mental strength, popularity, humor, style, popularity, innovation, table presence, etc.....Reardon had no weak links in his game The only one who has ever had it all.
@@theradgegadgie6352 I'm saying that Ronnie and Hendry had flaws as players. Reardon didn't have one single flaw Reardon is the only player in history who has been able to do this
@@theradgegadgie6352 Steve Davis lacked, creativity, longevity, popularity, humour, style, innovation, and table presence Davis won his last world title at 33, Reardon won his at 45 Reardon was a much better all round player than Davis. Its not even close.
@JohnSmith-su3ze The guy who was world number one for ten years and was in eight world finals, winning six, lacked table presence and longevity? Also, Ray Reardon didn't even win his first title until he was thirty-eight. Steve Davis was twenty-four. Horses for courses. Davis played thirty-eight professional seasons. Reardon played twenty-five. (Longevity?) Davis won nearly two-thirds of his professional matches, Reardon only just over half. Davis also played in an era of more players of much higher levels of competitiveness. The facts do not back up your assertions. I'll agree that Davis was found boring and humourless by most people, but that's irrelevant. We're talking about who was the better snooker player, not who was the most fun entertainer. Even then, though, you would be wrong. Davis has done circuit appearances bordering on standup comedy for years.
They played each other twice, as it happens - Stephen won both, 5-3 and then 5-4, making the seventh century of his career in the first match. So Ray acquitted himself very well!
He obviously said this before Ronnie started to really take over. I always remember Reardon when he did a comedy exhibition with John Virgo at the crucible after the semis ended early in 85 I think, and he came on with a fake beard! Really funny!
The rocket had arrived by then allredy won the UK and masters at this point but yeah at this point hendry was the greatest player anyone had ever seen.
I miss David Vine, such a great presenter. And Ray Reardon is a gentleman and a giant of the sport.
Yeah more character as the ones now.
I like Rachel on Eurosport but not the black fellow
The great David vine. Never equalled. Reardon the greatest champion and the best all-around player there ever was.
RIP Ray
Here after hearing about the death of Ray Reardon. RIP Ray

You're seriously suggesting if he played prime Hendry or O'Sullivan that he'd win?

I was at the 5-4 game. It was very open and a shoot out. Reardon had a century or a 90’ odd if I remember.

Bit of an unfair 1st question!

Knowing Eddie he wouldn't have found that joke funny
He'd have swore under his breath... "lucky Pommie b******".

Yep, watch his recent interview with WST

Hendry was a better match player than Ronnie. If O'Sullivan had Hendry's temperament he would have 14 world titles.
