Very timely Kevin. I have an old wheel I want to make a fire pit out of. Probably no cooking for this one though. I’m going to put it on casters so I can move it in and out of the garage to slow the rust. Thanks for the video!
I can't hardly believe how amazingly talented one fella can be. A true jack of all traits it seems. A very skilled craftsman. I found and subscribed because of the morel antler art video, and all these other videos are absolutely blowing my mind. Awesome stuff. What a cool guy. Very intelligent and an awesome personality.
Works great for me but is always a work in progress. I haul my Honda quad, roll it out and have a big air bed. Wired it for ac & dc, has TV, stereo and Alexa. So rightfully, I call it a toy hauler. Lots more I want to do to it still.
Ya put me 17 minutes behind schedule this morning Kevin, THANKS!!! Looking forward to part two.... Maybe you could hang the dutch oven by a chain... easy height adjustment!!! :>)>
A Weber 22.5 inch grate fits in a 23 inch rim to simplify if you can't do metal work. Mine is a hollow rim that sits on 4 bricks with a second grate inside to raise the fire off the ground. Great build. Wish I had the ability to work metal.
I was thinking about adding an adjustable grate to my rim grill and your design looks pretty good. Would you do anything different after 3 years of use?
I always love to see what your coming up with next. The fire pit is really cool. Looking forward to seeing the finished product. I'm sure it will be awesome. You are a talented and creative guy, that's for sure. I really enjoy watching you work. It's very relaxing. Thank you for sharing. Be well and stay healthy!
That's the wheel I needed for my truck. I welded up a hitch mount grill and now going to build another grill. I work 50 to 60 hr weeks and understand what you mean buddy.
I am currently working on a similar project, and the rim I have looks exactly like the one you have, but I have some reservations about cooking food on it when fumes from the burning paint inside the wheel well rise and pass through the food. What are your thoughts?
As Long as you use aluminum foil to cook Directly on, A Rear Steel Fan Blade Guard that a old style large window box fan has on them, that the fan motor bolts directly to make a good cooking grate and it's perfect for making the meat searing marks on steaks and other meats
Real man of genius!!
Thank you so much for the comment and watching.
Fantastic build I the exact same rim.👍🏽
This was a fun build I think I have a playlist on it.
I don't know where you come up with these designs. That's about the best design I've seen.
I'm not sure Daryl I just like this kind of work.

Burn all the paint off first before you cook food on it and it should be fine.
Nice work
Thanks James
I see the hot dogs rolling off when you change heights.

Kevin Also try a Semi Truck Rear Steel Wheel sometime and A semi truck Brake Drum Makes A Heck Of A Forge As Well
Good one thanks Sam
Google hillbilly camp stand Australia . Does this but in a much simpler way . Great grill though. Love it.
Thanks for the info!
For the Dutch Oven you could use a chain to adjust it up and down.
Thanks Frank

Still working Danny
Where can we buy a used rim like this?
the junk yard
You didn’t need the washers you already had a fulcrum point and it wouldn’t move from there with weight on the grill
Thanks for the comment.
Have you ever made a Rocket Stove to cook on.
I will have to build one
