- Joyride on the Mi-8 right at St.Petersburg city center. The landing field is in the center of the city - it takes off from a green lawn near the Peter and Paul Fortress. Best book in advance as it is very popular.

The Mil 8 is such a classic helicopter. One of the best in the world.
@@hermes6910 it is the most used helicopter in its class (twin engine medium/heavy lift)... Over 60 counties use it, and the most number of helis still in operation.
Two things the Russians made very well... The AK 47 and the Mil Mi8.

Good risky camera work 👌 super
This aircraft differs from the military versions in that it has rectangular windows instead of the usual round ones. There is a similar one on display at the Helicopter museum at Weston Super Mare, which is ex Polish Air Force.

Cool aircraft, but I wouldn't fly on it nor would I stand anywhere near it taking off. It sounds much better once the rotors are spinning faster, and that was a gentle lift off. nice

The first time I saw a pilot having a nice catwalk aroud a chopper. I suggest he should apply for victoria's secret!
All pilots hv to check their hptt/aircrafts before sitting in cockpit. It is his primary duty and everyone must do it. Human can commit err unknowingly. Tachnical failure can be of any kind. Machine is machine. It does not operate itself. Some expert is required to operate it, no doubt, machine performs well as desired by its maker/manufacturer. Humans hands are more important than machines.
