Hi, another helpful video. Is this procedure described in the car's manual? If not, many people will save money by not having to pay lots of cash for battery replacement (or even falling victim to scammers).
Oh, and the title is funny. My first thought was 'high security battery?'

I thought that I needed to change the battery as the fob doesn't seem to lock/unlock the doors unless you are right next to them. Whereas the remote for my older Mustang works a bit further away. Glad to know where that " hidden " tab is, but now I am not sure if I need a battery. I accidentally hit the " panic " button while inside my house (about 50 ft from the car) and it started the alarm. Didn't seem to want to shut off, though, unlit I was outside nearly 15 feet away.
Go figure.

You need to measure the voltage of the battery, pointless guessing. Brand new, it should push out 3.3v, once it goes below 3v, it'll be problematic.

Does the key have to be reprogrammed after?

Original or OEM keys don’t have to be reprogrammed. Some of the inexpensive replacement keys loose their programming when a battery dies or is replaced.

The blade for the remote is a little bit harder to find. I will post a link in the description.

I've tried looking online and most other key fobs have little buttons to release the key, but mine is very similar to the one in your video and I can't figure out how to take the key out (i need a surf key and so i'm trying to remove the key from my spare fob)

You don't really need a flat screw. I did it with my house key and it popped up and didn't damage my key.
