i love how many of us guess that Pip the one who rip out OC page. it an easy guess and heartbreaking at the same time since it relateble the whole situation when it come to drawing and making new character.... sometime, we unsure about the cartoon that we draw....
That seems like the most obvious conclusion, but I honestly kind of hope that the culprit is one of the drawings. But the idea of all this mistrust forming between them only for it to be a misunderstanding would be interesting too. I guess we'll just see how it goes but regardless I am loving this so far!
I like the anime character didn’t have lip sync in the group shot musical number when everyone sang but still sang his own part at the end. They might have knew us obsessive nerds would noticed.
It's truly amazing how many reactors on youtube are able to pick the exact time when something is being explained in a show, and use that time to talk over the show and theorize the exact opposite of what the show is explaining. Like how do they do it? It's some sort of prescience.
Plot twist, Pip did it. Maybe she went to school, and someone saw her sketchbook, and decided to take it while she was entering or leaving school, so she's outside. Pip, trying to grab it back, ends up dropping it on the ground in a muddy puddle. Frantically, she tried cleaning the book, but OC's page got wrecked. Frustrated, she ripped it out, and threw it in the trash once she got home. The dog might have then dug through the trash, because dogs LOVE trash, which may explain the muddy paws and paper stuck on his feet

Oh Saber, self insert characters are still OCs! Nice to hear Joey Bizinger in something else (he voices Sousuke) - and to hear him SING too, he doesn't really get to do it that often, especially in a voice acting role.

This is like Our Drawings. Except made with actual heart. And being a story about 2D drawings actually animated in 2D. And with endearing characters. And competently written.
Imagine if Pip drew her favorite 3D character but bc she drew them on paper, they came out 2D. That character would probably have an identity crisis lol!
I remember a time not so long ago that you could in fact put a sponsor in the middle of your animation. I believe it was called a commercial break. And I for one would be perfectly fine with seeing those again if it meant supporting high-quality indie projects. I know Zeurel started adding eye-catches into Monkey Wrench just for fun (EPISODE 4 IN ONE WEEK BTW), and it would be a straightforward matter putting the sponsors in between those. Honestly, I prefer when it's done that way rather than with segues.
Sponsor for INDIE Animation. I can think of a few things. Place it at the very beginning or end of the video. Have it in the description or pinned comment. Or, for something like this, have a poster in the background that reads "Not art. I'm the sponsor." The problem is finding a company that is willing to do that.

I think there is more to the story then the dog. I think the sketch book was thrown in the trash or on the ground in mud and the murder of OC happened prior but the dog found it after and pulled it out of the trash/ off the ground.
I find it ironic how during the sketchbook musical number, you comment how they don't drag things, because I felt like this number was mostly unneeded. It's very well-made, but 90% of what it goes over is stuff we already know. Who the characters are, where they're from, what they're like, how they wake up at midnight from the book. The only thing the song adds is their developing fear of being replaced/forgotten by OC.

We all know Weaboo the dog had a very important role in the destruction of OC, if you're saying otherwise after quite literally seeing the evidence all over that dog's feet, then I don't trust your judgement or eyesight- /Lh (it's possible the dog got his page ruined thus Pip had no other choice but to remove it from the sketchbook. Winn and Sosuke's pages were also dirtied but not damaged to the same degree, so Pip left them in)
The animation is great but the songs are terrible and the writing is pretty grating. A lot of these indie youtube pilots tend to have the same kind of writing style that feels like it was put together in a Tumblr thread. Had the same reaction to Lackadaisy. Also just the general concept of this show doesn't feel very compelling and you already know it's gonna be the dog that took the page.
