    I watched your video from last year and finally bought one nearly two months ago. It's a nice bag, very nice. I just wish the had a blue version of it.

    Your initial impression video is what got me interested in this bag. I’m still considering it because I love the cypress green. Thanks for the long term review

      @@photographytalk definitely been doing alot more wildlife, nature and outdoor stuff. So the bag is definitely more on the radar. I have a lowepro whistler 450 AW ii, so wanted to upgrade.

    I've been on the fence with this bag for last few months. Very good timing with this video, very helpful I think I have what I need to make my decision. BTW when you brought this as a carry on, did airline give you any problems with the size?

    Everyone I see reviewing this bag loves it. Would like to have one.. I like watching real worlders like Alex and Nick Page who use these bags everyday. Makes yah feel more informed before a person would buy one.

    Thanks for the review. Was wondering if I can put a big lens like, the Nikon 500mm f4 vr

    • @photographytalk
      @photographytalk  Год назад

      Absolutely, might take up most of the bag space though!

    I have looked at this pack, The different ICU that you can get are great. My concern is day gear. Jackets, wind pants, water bottles, food. Like right now I usually take two Nalgene one quart bottles and even a filter system just on an all day in the outdoors photography shoot. So how does all the other stuff that you need fit?

    • @photographytalk
      @photographytalk  2 года назад +1

      Excellent question. How much camera gear are you bringing out? How puffy is that coat? Wind pants should fold up small, water bottles I'd stuff in one of the exterior pockets or strap to the back and food in top pocket. When I head out for day trips, I'll have Jetboil in top with a Peak Refuel meal and will have a couple large bottles of water strapped to the back. Tripod attached to side. Even with the larger ICU, I have plenty of space on top for a coat and while I've never brought pants with me, I would have enough room to stuff those in the top as well.

    That green color is legit. You mentioned you had a white bag, thats brave! With me, that would have been filthy within days! How is this bags fabric to clean?

    • @photographytalk
      @photographytalk  2 года назад

      I've not needed to clean my current bags with the exception of leave blower to remove dust from a trip! Blows of like a charm!

    I occasionally carry a Canon 500mm F4 mk2... what insert would you recommend for that ?

    • @photographytalk
      @photographytalk  Год назад

      You could, but that would take up a large portion of the available room in the bag!

      I have the Nikon z400 2.8 and it barely fits in the extra large icu with z9 attached. You would need the extra large for a 500 f4 and not sure if would fit with body attached. There is about 3 inches left in the top where I put my Fstop medium accessory pouch stuffed pretty full and it just fits. I was able to fit under the seat on a small regional jet when I couldn’t get it in the overhead bin. I don’t think it is meant to go under the seat but I got away with it.

    Nice review but like many backpack reviews, there is no time spent with the backpack on the reviewer. Sitting it on a table doesn't help. The Tilopa, Ajna and Lotus look identical on a bench. Please state your height and weight and put the pack on. It's also critical to know how the aiines feel about a pack.

      Hey thanks James, I'll keep that in mind moving forward. For what it's worth, I'm 6' 225'ish lbs. I have another video where I speak about taking this with me on flights, never an issue. Hope this helps!

      @@photographytalk I found it after I posted my comment. Thank you. I am re-reviewing and pausing your videos trying to pull the trigger on a new backpack. But every one has a dealbreaker for me.

      @@jamesgerboc You talking about my videos or the bags?

    • @jamesgerboc
      @jamesgerboc Год назад

      @PhotographyTalk The bags. I wanted the Ajna with large ICU for the 40L size but I'm afraid of the thin straps. The Tilopa has better straps but the 50L size is a concern for every day and air travel. I have full frame kit and use an Incase Pro for everyday and a Lowepro 55L for travel and long hikes. The Incase has no space for non-camera or tripod. The Lowepro has straps like the Anja so I don't attach my tripod. What a pain this decision is because they are so expensive you can't afford to be wrong.

      I was able to fit the Tilopa under seat (in the US) in a small regional jet and got away with it. The bag was full but not overstuffed. I would get the Tilopa over the Ajna. I had the Ajna and it is not big enough for a fast telephoto prime because it won’t fit an extra large pro icu. I ended up giving it to a friend when I finally got my 400 2.8. If your kit is smaller, this bag would leave lots of room for extra gear. It is not much heavier than the Ajna and you don’t have to pack full if you want to use for every day carry but the space is there if needed. I would not go any larger than Tilopa or you would not be able to use as an airline carryon.
