If those plucker fingers are rubber, rubbing alcohol makes rubber “slippery” so put some rubbing alcohol on the rubber ends before inserting into holes
Instead of going through all the trouble to built the Transmission. You do not need the plucker fingers in the middle. Keep 10" in the middle without plucker fingers. Beside your chicken usually don't stay in the middle when the machine is spinning.
Lots of diy videos on this device... I know, I've watched most of them at least once. Yours is, by far, the easiest to understand. Maybe it's because you don't have an accent, LOL! Best wishes from Texas.
Thank you, Mr. Danny. I ain't the brightest crayon in the box but one thing I've got going for me is I know my limitations and what my talents are. I got lost when you said - let me show you the transmission system. I never recovered! So, I guess I'll be buying a chicken plucker if one of my sons can't build me one. It was nice to see your's though. I'm headed over to watch your video on tips after a hurricane. We are going through that this weekend. ~Sherrie in South Carolina
I have a stainless steel washing machine tub that I think would work for one of those. The tub is from a direct drive washer and has a very low profile agitator. I will send you some pictures via email. Would like your opinion of it.
I went with the yardbird plucker. I looked at building a whizz bang, but after i looked at parts cost and time, I decided to buy one and not build one. How much did you have in materials ?
Thank you so much for sharing. Do I understand $700, if you had to buy all the components new? Since you had a lot of these already, what was your total cost of the new components only. We have an old riding mower, and an old air compressor (if the motor is still workable). That is why I am asking. Thank you again.
Most of them do a good job if they are not rushed. The secret is in the scalding process if done right the feathers come of very easy nomatter which system you use.
Check out the Whiz Bang blog whizbangplucker.blogspot.com/)
THIS is why we watch you !

These skills need to be taught in school!!

Wow! Such a complicated project 😳 It’s a good thing you knew what to do!

That sure is incredible of you to build your own chicken plucker! Awesome!
Awesome project Danny!

Your definitely a smart guy danny
Very nice build!
WOW nice job Danny! very creative!
Beautiful build!
Nice job Danny. Now show us your bean sheller.
ruclips.net/video/LeDGYwx51Mg/видео.html Danny didn't build the pea sheller but here is a video on it.
This is so cool Danny thank you for sharing
impressive.....thanks for the inspiration....chicken on
This is awesome. You need to sell your own blue prints
Nice improvements.
Place a laundry basket under the shute to catch the feathers and no water
That's awesome. I just wonder if you could use a washer and put the chicken plucker fingers in the washer barrel? Just a thought.
I wish I had your brain.
Comeaux Creek Homestead I have a stainless steel washing machine tub that I want to try it with.
@@thymeforliving2648 post it if it works. Take pics along the way so we can see how you did it. I'm interested. Good luck.
We can skin a buck we can build a transmission for a chicken plucker and a country boy can survive...
Nice build, but you're right, for the money it would just be so much easier to buy one. Thanks y'all.
460 channellocks works great for fingers!
How well dose it do your turkeys? How many can you do at a time?
Only one turkey at a time.
I've said it before, "Smarter than the average bear."

Whizz bang!!!!!!
Danny - I like it! Will it work on wild geese & ducks?
Good morning 👍✌
Very informative.. Tnx
How many fingers did you use and what is the diameter of the disc?

the new parts were around 400 dollars.
Seems like you could change the speed to suit by using different pulleys/
This one turns at 150 RPM which is the best speed. So I would have no need to change the speed.
Not my cup of tea, but you did a great job.
Are you selling chicken pluked
Do you think the amazon for 450 is worth it ?

Hell for all that just buy one complete
How did you spend 700 bucks on that are those fingers that expensive
I built mine for about $200. I had to buy 150 fingers, 17” pulley, and s.s. bearings. Couple years to “procure” the other parts.
i wonder if this would work for plucking chinese chicken lol
700 dollars? Thats a lie.. you can get a top of the line stainless steel one cheaper. There is about 2-300$ of materials there where u getting 700?
That was so hawt. ❤️
big motor waste of electricity
