This was a HUGE help, man. Thank you! It's too bad the jackpot has been nerfed to 250. It's only worth grinding this game now if you actually enjoy playing it as you'll need hundreds of plays spread evenly across several weeks to get to the point you are consistently at an advantage.
Wouldn't be surprised if you stopped advantage playing long before this post as it doesnt seem to be much of an advantage now.

Went today at Main Event on Monday Madness: I practiced alot but I haven't got the hang of it yet, it's not as easy as it looks. Looks like you have to do it near spot on, and I didn't think about throwing a "dead ball" as you mentioned, but heck you can lean pretty far in and still the ball manages to bounce out the bucket (its like "wtf how" really) and I guess I just need to practice more and dial it in somehow...sigh
