OMG this story made me so emotional. it reminded me of when i first moved to the united states alone... we had a layover in chicago and it was deep in the winter, i just wore a tshirt because i was so young and i didnt even know what winter was, coming from nigeria, it was so warm.... My blood was literally freezing while i was waiting for the shuttle bus to take me to the hotel, a very nice Asian woman noticed me shaking and asked if i had a jacket, i said no and she felt so sorry for me, she opened her suitcase and gave me a very warm, expensive jacket. she left a few minutes later. i feel so bad because i never took her phone number.. i am grateful till this day. for the next two years after that incident, that was my only winter jacket.
That is amazing 💛 sounds like we encountered the same woman. How generous and kind of that lady.... that’s really an incredible story and she probably has no idea just what that meant to you. 💛
@@SpaceMakerMethod she probably even forgot about it
😭
Wait the woman who paid for your meals omg i’m emotional 🥺🥺😭😭 love this ~get to know me~ video ♡
I cried...
I’ve never forgotten her 💛
It’s amazing how such a small thing can make such an impact on someone
This heartwarming story you’ve shared reminded me of a similar one which happened to me when I was in Syria back in 2007, before the bombings. We went outside Damascus and visited some ruins near Aleppo. While walking and sightseeing ruins of an ancient theater we were approached by a local who was so amused that my friend was speaking Arabic (he studied there as part of Erasmus program) that he invited us to his home, which was built inside these ruins (Syrian people actually lived like that when they couldn’t afford normal house), he shared his food with us. We spent some time together, he shared so many stories, we met his wife and children, visited some local places with him and after that he walked us to the bus station and disappeared for a moment. He came back with bus tickets for us and food for the journey back to Damascus (despite we could afford them!) and didn’t say no for an answer! He didn’t even allow us to pay him back! He said he is proud to have us as guests and will remember us forever... and so did we obviously. So much time has passes and I still go back to this day with tears in my eyes
Thank you for sharing, what a beautifil story.
About Europe: I am Belgian and if you ever come around I would love to meet and even maybe show you around places...
I lived in Korea (in Seongnam) too and I also had an old woman paying for my meal just because I carried her bags and helped her in and out of the restaurant... Such a human country!

How amazing 💛 and yes, I’d love that!
I know a personal act of kindness in a foreign place gives you a lifetime memory and specially if that act was in a time of need. Have experienced it and somewhere it has impacted me so much that I too try to be helpful and kind even to strangers🙂 . Loved the video and it was good to know about you April☺!
Yes! It makes you want to pay it forward even more when you’ve been in those shoes! 💛
@@SpaceMakerMethod Yes, absolutely ❤😊
Wow that lady, these small acts reassure us of humanity still existing. With so much negativity all around, need to hear such things everyday. Loved knowing you ❤️.
💛it’s always good to have those reminders!
Wow, your story of such kindness was so incredibly touching. I've been that broke while traveling abroad (poor planning, a very distant return flight, and bf/travel partner who wigged out...) and the small community of expats I'd just met in Cambodia all offered to pitch in and take me in and help me through until I could get back to Thailand, land of the cheap food!
That’s amazing... it’s incredible especially in those types of expat/travel communities how much people create a strong community to help each other. 💛 thanks for sharing!
Oh my gosh April you had me in tears. That Mom was such a blessing to you guys.
💛she was!
Oh my gosh... I feel like I've commented a lot lately, but most everything you post and say; from your time abroad to how you've been doing this since you were a kid I relate to so much! Especially the part about working a job and eventually hating it.
Been such a mind game getting everything together to help people declutter full-time. Seeing this was so encouraging!
My husband and I and our dog all plan to move to Ireland. We moved from China after living there for 4+ years and miss it quite a bit, but we were both pretty burnt-out of English teaching. So here we are! Waiting and planning to move overseas, while trying to make a sustainable means of doing so.
Your channel has helped me so much with my perfectionist tendencies. Thank you so much!
How could you not get emotional thinking about that? I'm crying just listening 💖
I just found your channel a short time ago, but already hooked. I've binged watched to catch up to current videos and my bell is on for each & every one you post. It was nice to hear some background story about you and how you came to live in Korea and what you've been through to get where you are. Sure makes me appreciate your videos and designs even more. Thank you very much, I'm thankful to be part of your journey.
💛I’m so happy to hear that on all counts! Thanks for being part of this channel!
Thanks for validating that feeling of always hating your job and feeling like your supposed to be doing something else. I've been struggling with this for a while and I'm excited to find the thing I'm supposed to be doing.
Oh absolutely! I think it’s actually healthy to admit when you don’t love your job so that you can bring awareness to the situation and start learning more about what would make you happy. Here’s to hoping you find out what the right job is for you 🍻
I study abroad in Copenhagen and lived an hour away (by train) with a host family but now I’m back in Minneapolis with a 4 yr old cat so this was very helpful ❤️
💛 thanks for watching!!
April, thank you for taking the time to answer our questions. I am glad that your are doing what you love. I wish you a Happy and safe Holidays! I love your personality!
Of course!! And happy holidays to you!!
I really hope that you will come to Europe some time soon. I am so looking forward to getting the chance to be helped with my appartement in Germany!
Good grief. Your story about the woman who paid for your meals brought me to tears too.
💛💛💛
I loved this clip and I love you too!! My 26 yo son is an English teacher in Beijing (we are English) and you remind me of him - ie - open to new people and cultures - out there having amazing experiences. Keep it up
honey!
Oh wow! Good for your son! I hope he’s doing well in all this crazy 2020 business!
The story about the woman who paid your meals legit made me cry. Like. _A lot._ (Have you told this before? I feel like I've already heard it (not that it made me less emotional lol))
I think I have, but can’t remember where. It always makes me cry too 💛
Such a great story about about the restaurant experience! Thanks for sharing!
💛 of course!
Love this video! I know you’re just starting out at this full time but you’re already so polished from a branding perspective. Your “brand” is so evident in your videos and on Instagram and I can’t stay away! #fanforlife
Wow! Thank you so much!!!
Loved the video as always
Also i really love the Intro music, i think you could easily play the intro Jingle a little bit louder and use it again at the end for an outro linking your socialmedia. I am very excited to see this channel grow. Have watched you from your other channel and really like your personality.
I think it's very brave to let go of so many belongings and get away from family and friends and just dive into a crazy adventure. Really admire you and Jackson for that. Hope 2021 will bring us all peace and health 💖
Cheers to a NEW year!
happy holidays! thanks for sharing :)
Happy holidays to you as well!
Uau amazing stories, sometimes angels appear in our lives to take care and give us hope. Thanks for sharing and God bless you. 😊🌞✨🌟🍀🌈
They do! 💛
This was really interesting- thank you!
Loved your story re: the kindness of strangers. I've often found this true of people regardless of cultural and language differences and if I can help someone in difficulty I do my best to 😊
💛💛💛💛
Thanks for the Q&A! I was wondering when you were going to do one, so I was happy to see it. Are you going to design Adrienne Hill’s new apartment?
Welcome! And I’m not sure what we will do or if we will... but I was over there measuring and taping out furniture and where to place it already. 💛
Loved this video♡♡♡
Thank you 💛
Wow!!! I'm delighted to meet you!!! Hello from Tigard, Oregon 🌞
Hello fellow PNWer!
Love this! We want to possibly move to Scotland in 2 years and our 2 kitties would definitely come with us or else we wouldn’t go! :)
Random Q: have your parents ever visited you in S. Korea?
Pets are family 💛💛💛. This was actually the year (last summer) both families were coming for the first time, it’s been 4 years since we’ve seen them, but then corona ☹️.
Great to get to know you. How well does your cat travel?
That we will have to see 😬 we haven’t travelled with her since first getting her and bringing her home on the subway. She’s more of a stay at home cat so it will probably be stressful for her .... and mom. 😭😕 But we can’t leave her 😩
@@SpaceMakerMethod 😻😻
Great video ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for watching! 💛
As someone from BC Canada, I'm glad I don't live in the woods anymore to see bears in windows 😂
Haha! I am so with you!
come to Germany many people speak English here so no language barrier!
Ooooo ya!!
I've followed you for a while now on your other channel, then here. I'm not much of a podcast person though, so I'm not sure if that's why, but I never heard the whole story of how you guys ended up there in South Korea. I had no idea you'd moved around so much, it was very interesting.
Wow! Thanks for following along for so long💛 Hope you had a good holiday!
So nice the lady paying for you. I've starved many times. The easiest was when I was broke with 10c in my account with 5 days to go till pay day we ate no food for 5 days. The worst was 3 weeks with no food then barely any for months I got so sick. No one believes people can starve in a so called 1st world country. They always assume super skinny people must have a food eating disorder but no bro, its because of having no money coming in and savings all gone.
I hope you’re fine now 🙏🏻
I'm so sorry to hear this. I hope that things are okay now💛
Thanks for this video ❤️ got to know so much about you ❤️ big fan ❤️
My pleasure 😊Thanks for watching!
This was great!
I am very curious on how throughout moves and just life in general when you choose to let go of items, what methods have you chosen and found to be effective (i.e. selling online, gifting, trash, recycle etc)! Any tips, tricks, methods to do so would be helpful, I've been binging your channel and have been decluttering all week hence I have a pile of stuff worthy of selling (I've donated a lot) but am overwhelmed by the idea of it all
Oh that’s a great question and I have so many declutter series coming up in anticipation of our move so I’ll definitely share that more!
It’s definitely overwhelming at times.. just be patient with yourself. Sometimes I find that donating is much easier than selling because it requires less work from me, gives to someone who needs it and it’s out of my home quickly
@@SpaceMakerMethod Sweet i'll keep an eye out!
Hahah about Europe, if you come to Finland, come help me with my house 😅😅😅
I would love to visit Finland!
I'm new to the channel, thanks for uploading.
Thanks for watching!
🖐🏼🙂
I'm wondering what her partner does for a living. Still teaching? Now that she isn't on an E2 visa, how did she arrange to continue staying in Korea? Is he main source of income this channel.
Just curious.
He teaches and because he works here he can sponsor a spouse visa.
@@SpaceMakerMethod Good stuff. Cheers for the reply!
