  • Philly goes big on celebrating year-round - and the holiday season is no different. For 2023, plenty of iconic seasonal celebrations - Macy’s Christmas Light Show, LOVE Park’s Christmas Village and Philadelphia Ballet’s The Nutcracker - are joined by brand-new traditions like Yuletide at Devon. From grandma-approved traditions to soon-to-be classics, the holidays are LIT in Philly.

I was born and raised in Philly. I watched the Thanksgiving Day parade with many others live. Watched the Mummers parade come down Broad St. in the warmth of Sydney G. King Dance studio at 711. S. Broad St. and when I got older, my friends and I watched it live and in person until the cold sent us home. Gimbels, Lit Brothers, Strawbridges and John Wanamakers were the stores to go to at Christmas. Chestnuts roasting on the sidewalks as you walked down Market St. The beautiful, Christmas Village at Lit Brothers. So many memories and I am enjoying all the new things I see happening in my home town from, N.C.
