I love the comment Keith made when you were looking at the wrought iron gate " the fact that it's not perfect is what makes it perfect"
These historical cemeteries are so interesting. I can't wait for the follow up edition. Thank you Leo & Keith & Heather.
The historical timeline is crucial for any potential historical goldmine. The potential historical impact that cemetery can potentially hold is mind blowing just of on the few you guys shown. Like I wouldn't be surprised if the historical society makes it a critically endangered site and move quickly to record what's left.
The unmarked & those marked with only a rock are so sad. When the burials took place the family probably never imagined the cemetery overgrown & abandoned and that no one would know or remember who rested there So so sad.
Thanks Keith and Leo for bringing us along. I started to go down the rabbit hole of J.B. when the video of the jail came out but I thought if Heather couldn't find him no one would. LOL You are amazing researcher and Leo a storyteller.
Leo, please go back when it is frosted over or snow! I think you will see so many more graves. This was a wonderful walk and super old and very historic cemetery. So many lives lost to time. The probably had hard lives a lot of them. Thank you very much both of you guys for this show! -Nina
So much history. Lives lived and lost. Always enjoy your wanders. Thanks Leo, and Keith. I never get tired of watching and learning . ❤Hey Heather 👋
This is a wonderful cemetery to study the history of the local community. I love old cemeteries. There are two graves in my family cemetery that have rocks as headstones,. Since the cemetery was established in the 1800's, I have no idea who is buried in those graves. Thank you and Keith for this short adventure.
Leo here's an idea when you do old gravy yards bring some sidewalk chalk to rub on head stone to help read it
Thankyou Leo ,it made me very sad.but these soul's are not forgotten 🙏💙
Video reminded me of a coworker from about 45 years ago Ray Pennington played stand up bass at bluegrass festivals in East Tennessee.
Very interesting cemetery. At least some people are trying to keep their family's graves clean and neat. Great video, thank you very much for sharing this with us Leo and Heather. Have a great weekend. 😊
Wow, fantastic trip to the cementary!!! Remember a trip that Leo took to part of this place not so long ago. I guess I am correct! I remember the gasoline going through and didn't seem to care about preserving the graves. This cemetery with many graves is huge! Love to see you all revisit this cementary and take a shovel and other tools with you. Don't you ever think snakes or other things that could hurt you?? Thank you both along with our Heather for this vlog!!:-) :-) :-) :-)
Wow! What a huge place! So sad that there are so many unmarked graves, forgotten people 😢 Great information on many that did have names, their names spoken after many years. ❤
Wow thats crazy to see another Glen Adkins thats about my grandpa Glen Adkins age and died around same time frame. But my grandpa Glen W Adkins is burried in Dock cemetery around Huntington WV. That Jesse is probably related to me . Thank you all for this ! I wish Leo would find the old Sullivan cemetery in Pikeville Ky. Just to tell the story on it. They moved a mobile home on it. The people that bought it. My Sullivans family was the first Sillivans in that area from what I have been told.
Wow, Leo! What a great find!1 I hope this area will always be safe from builders!! I am sticking with you as you just might came across a relative of mine! Thank you!!!
Those are wonderful. I hope you will go back when the leaves fall and do some more videos and find names for these precious people
It’s amazing to know each one had their own stories
Thank you for all you do 🙏😊
390 AAA AW stands for 390th anti aircraft artillery (also known as triple A) automatic weapons battalion and he was a private first class 😊
I'm not in the military but a lot of my family is or was in since WWI so I learned a lot in passing (asking my dad who's retired Army of 21 years and double checking with Google helps too) 😉😂
Great video as always hope y'all are doing good ❤️ And RIP and thank you for your service to Glen 🇱🇷
What do you say? So many graves just lost to time really great your cataloging all you can. No telling how many graves are gone forever but that’s life I guess time never stops.
That is so cool! Bless you for recording this!
Wow what a huge cemetery to have been mostly forgotten 😢🇺🇸
Great video!! Thanks Leo and Heather 😊😊
Wow this is amazing. My maiden name is Spriggs, the ancestors were from Washington Co., VA into southern WV. So interesting, thank you!
That would be so cool to camp there and document every single headstone there that would be so cool
May be take your spirit meter with you
My great grandfather is Grover Cleveland Scott!
Thank you so much ❤
Ahoy Captain and Leo 🌳

Wow!
My Paternal grandfather Sam Eddie Dillon is buried here. Also my 5 year old brother, Gary Bruce Dillon who died in 1958
Hello Leo,....love your videos...history of the past is so important. Keep up the good work. Is heather going to post on her paranormal channel?..
She plans to.
awesome as always :)
I am related to these Penningtons.and found my legit relationship to Daniel Boone. Thank you for this video and all your hard work
I have so many questions, I wish I was right there with you and the captain! I’ve mentioned in a few of your other videos about how I’ve never seen cemeteries like these before. Hundreds and hundreds of people are buried there and no one is left to visit the graves. And no one even knows who they are. I’ve really never realized that this exists. I was glad that Kieth knew a few of the people buried there. Did they not keep records of burials back then? And I’m so surprised that there were people buried there in 2002. Does Kieth own the whole cemetery? Thank you for another great video.
He owns the land around it. Large old cemeteries on private land like that are usually tax exempt, but you do have to leave a right of way for visitors. Records are spotty, at best.
@@thehillbillyfiles thank you!
Always on a Mountain! Lol. ❤❤❤
Great video I know your wife is bring them back to life Leo that cross at 7:07 someone knows their name their is flowers there
How old might this be???........so unique.
Be interesting to drill the tree to see how old it is that would give you a good idea how old it is
😢
I don't know if you guys know but there is a movie on RUclips about the matewon incident.
The people that cared have died off and the younger generation doesn’t care. Shame.
It's to bad some volunteer would go and clean the grave sites up.The town can throw a picnic for the volunteer s.
Does anyone know the name of this cemetary?
Couldn't the counties or State, or even a historical society, clean up the cemeteries?
🖐🥰👏💜
