Great info would love to hear a vocal version the any comparison videos you do in the future. I'm sight impaired and it makes it difficult to read all the subtitles. But great comparison between the to die sets. Echo
So this basically tells you it works fine as long as you use .356 bullets. You better measure your Bullets because that is not the size used by a large number of bullet manufacturers. Which is why a lot of dies are undersize. I would love an undersize mighty armory die.
.355 and .356 is what is used as a standard by all bullet manufactures for 9mm and in addition this MA die is designed around commercial ammo manufacturers and commercial presses and is currently being used by manufacturers in the US and other countries and works with either perfectly. It is designed around being universal for all brands of brass and reloading just with better over all tolerances. My entire business is based on the reloading world and bullets...I certainly understand the variances. I do not make dies but I certainly test plenty of them because I strive to use the best and I like to pass along my findings to help others that may be researching information on the same thing and they can make up their own mind from there , I do not care what the brand or cost is because neither makes something a better product and I am not paid by anyone for the reviews I make. You will certain find a vast range of brands on my benches. Wayne the owner of Mighty Armory is a nice guy...if you call them he will talk to you personally and answer any questions you could have...give him a call. I hope this helps my friend...Happy Reloading!
Good lord, that was a lot of something about nothing. Brass varies across manufacturers. The reason factory ammo makers have such perfect looking rounds is that they control every aspect from the brass to the bullet. Most reloaders are using mixed brass. Die manufacturers make their sizing die diameter to try to cover the largest range of brass as they can. So while your die works out perfect with that brass and bullet combo it may not have enough neck tension with another. Some manufacturers shoot for a happy medium and some go for what would be considered a u-die. The dillon 9mm die is basically a u-die. They agree that a slight-coke bottle effect" is perfectly normal and doesnt affect anything. I don't think anyone is going to accuse Dillon Precision of not knowing what they're talking about "Bullet pushing brass ahead of it as its seated" Um, no, that's not a real thing, you literally made that up. Are you serious with this? There is zero evidence of this being an actual thing. Zero. Nada. Zip Let's not even talk about calling out measurements of .0005" while using a caliper... As far as flex on the decapping pin, what does that equate to in terms of performance. If the Hornady works, what does flex matter? I processed tens of thousands of 9mm with a Hornady die without ever breaking a decapping pin. I've even punched through .22LR cases that were hiding inside of 9mm Listen, I like Mighty Armory, they make some nice stuff. In fact I think their products speak for themself without having to literally make things up Toodles
#1 I do not make the dies and I do not work for mighty armory...#2 measurements and numbers do not lie...they are right there in front of you and I'm happy you have never broken your decapping pin but thousands of others have because their pins are very weak...the die manufactures replace them a dime a dozen and is one of the biggest complaints of the dies in all the groups plus the MA die in this comparison video is designed to be used on commercial presses by manufacturing companies as well as the every day user and have been verified to still be in spec at 1 million rounds and I do not care if you believe me because it is already obvious you do not know and deal with the same people and companies that I do so it is irrelevant what you believe and makes zero difference to me what you say about me. So I have a question for you? If it is perfectly acceptable for the hour glass shape of the loaded ammo...why do factory rounds not come that way? We will use Hornady (which I love the company) as an example because they make both reloading dies and make factory ammo both...they load their factory ammo with the same bullets as they sell for reloading so why is it that you still get the hour glass out of some of their dies when reloading your self vs factory? I will tell you why...because the dies they sell to the general user are not the same tolerance or quality and they are made on a mass scale. It really is that simple, same goes for Dillon, Lee, RCBS etc. This is why one guy like yourself can say my die works fine while 5 others using the same die, same ammo, same brass does not. As for your Dillon comment.. lol If you were a company making a product that people are complaining about and didn't want to strive to be better...I guess there is a very large chance they would say what ever they had to so people keep buying their product. In most guns you are correct, the hour glass does not cause feed issues, but in some it does...I have two 9mm pistols with tight tolerances that absolutly do not like it then I have multiple others that cycle it fine...and now there is a die that makes great ammo that cycles in every one I own so guess what I use? So myself and for others with the same issue there is a need for a better quality die, for others there is no need so everyone is happy...but to say (I dont have a need) so there for its just a bunch of crap is just someone that either has too much time on their hands so they troll videos for no actual good reason or someone that does not own a business in the field of reloading that actually deals in clients who do have the issues and care about solving them. Its the same thing as telling someone that requires a catheter to pee that they are are a liar because you don't need one to do the same. This is simply a comparison video between two dies...no one is telling you to throw your current die in the trash and by a different one, if you are happy with your dies...thats absolutly great and this video should not have even interested you in the first place much less seem (triggered) by it lol For someone researching dies and looking for detailed information about them with real numbers and results this video is for them and they can make their own decisions. Look...everyone is entitled to their opinion and thats fine and dandy...but saying someone is making things up when the video, pictures and numbers are right there for you that makes (your) remarks that its made up (opinion) over fact with nothing but your (opinion) to back up what you are saying and all that shows is someone that looks for videos and makes baseless comments to evidently make themselves feel better. So if the bullet pushing the brass forward as it seats into an undersized case is a made up thing then please explain to us what causes the hourglass case and the measurements that I have stated? Did they get that way by osmosis? Magical unicorns? Leprechauns? No...they got that way because the bullet is pushing the brass ahead of the it's self as it seats lol If you want to tell the world I am making things up....please feel free to make a technical video to prove it...were all waiting
I probably would have gotten much more out of the video had it had some kind of narration. I sit at my bench and do other things...like reloading that require my attention. Yes, I can do two things at once. However, reading and reloading at the same time are not in my repertoire of many talents.
Interesting, articulate, well presented and to the point. Thanks.
I have punched through berdan primed cases with the Mighty Armory Blue decapping die and not bent a pin. It's the best decapping die I've ever used.

"laments terms?" layman's?
Great testing. Thank you
I just purchased a set of these and cannot get them set to work like this.
Can you post setup of these?
Instructions really suck...
Everthing is now up and runnning great!
Thanks Wayne!
