    Good info, I think. Seems you had some *VERY* serious mic issues going on there. Maybe record a bit and preview to test next time. Otherwise, from what little I could actually make out, sounded on point. Clean up the Mic, and keep on making vids. Look forward to hearing the next one.

      Hey Penguin, we actually just had a new mic come in recently, so there may be a different sound to all future videos coming out. Thank you so much for the feedback and I hope the info helped!

    For someone with a CCNA, do you think the VCTA-DCV is a good pairing/foundation for the VCP-NV?
    From what I can see, the VCTA seems to be roughly 60% focused on introducing the products and 40% about the technology itself. I'm torn between going for the VCTA first or heading straight to the VCP-NV --> DCV. My experience with vSphere is mostly through labs. I would love to hear your thoughts on that. Thanks!

    • @DaltonInCloud
      @DaltonInCloud  3 года назад +4

      Primarily the pairing between the CCNA and the VCP-NV is to save money so you do not need to take the mandatory training offered for this certification

    Cut nuggets doesn’t have much for vcta it has the old vca dcv which is discontinued and vcp so for videos not much but they do have a breakdown you can search for free

    Best free study material for VCTA? E.g. I want to obtain and study as much material as possible for free and only spend money for taking the test. Is VCTA still the entry level cert for VMWare?

    • @DaltonInCloud
      @DaltonInCloud  3 года назад +2

      @@mehmetturanguzel1111 I would say it is not a good start for an IT career. If you are starting I would go with the more fundamental route with either CompTIA A+ certification, Google IT Support Certificate, or Microsoft 365 Modern Desktop Administrator Associate. However, if you already have a Support/Help Desk job or experience this is definitely an amazing certification to start your role-specific pathway in IT.

    • @DaltonInCloud

      I worked in a company that utilized VMWare previously, and still do. With that in mind, a VMWare cert will be a nice have, however, I recommend the core certs first. The reason for this is stayed in my other VMWare video where I explain when you go for the associate level cert the course is mandatory. However, there is a way to cheat the system, which I explain can be done with a little help from networking knowledge.

      In the video, I mention Keith Barker's course for this certification as well as the Exam Guide by Robert Schmidt. However, you can also find those as the first two links listed above in the Video Description. I hope that helps BAINZ :D

      @@ProjektNoiseBox I know a lot of people from my previous employer, they work, like I did with OU groups, managing an enterprises active directory but never even went for their MCSA. That was until the department got outsourced and they were told to apply for their own positions. how promising is a career in virtualization?

    • @DaltonInCloud
      @DaltonInCloud  2 года назад +2

      I think a career in virtualization is very promising, but it is what you make it, also if you compound it with other experience, such as sys admin or networking, it can be amazingly promising. Just be sure to constantly lab and even if you can, document how you lab, so you can remember how to explain your process during any future interviews.

    • @GroovyKid94
      @GroovyKid94 2 года назад +2

      @@DaltonInCloud do you mean to study for CCNA for example to compound it? cuz i dont think i can work as network admin and vmware admin at the same time, though i would love to lol. i love both worlds. but yea i believe my job now in vmware team is considered being a sys admin.. thanks for ur input btw!

    • @DaltonInCloud
      @DaltonInCloud  2 года назад +2

      @@GroovyKid94 Yeah, I hope it helps, I just meant a lot of jobs can require virtualization, such as Datacenter admin, system engineer, or in your case, admin, I have even seen NOC Analyst roles require virtualization. That is just what I was getting at. But I am glad you already know the sys admins utilize virtualization at your current company, that already puts you above the competition.

    Does the VCTA-DCV expire after 2 years?

    • @Arrian_YT
      @Arrian_YT Год назад

      In 2019, VMWare decided that all of their certifications don't expire anymore. It's up to you when are you going to take a VMWare certification exam again. If you passed a VMWare certification in mid-2019 onward, it doesn't expire. You are certified for life.
