Thinking of staying here. How was it during the stay? Would you recommend it to families? Were the rooms quiet and comfortable? I worry about room noise from people upstairs and in the hallway being in a hotel for so many nights.

We enjoyed the room very much. I never heard any hallway noise.. the surrounding area is amazing. Easy walk to the water and easy pickup for tours. Your experience might be different but I would recommend this place.

Cairns, not “carns”, nor “kahns”. Some pronounce it like “cans” or “kanns” but most pronounce it “cairns” like it’s spelt. I acknowledge that the plural of a Scottish memorial rock pile, a cairn, is supposed to be pronounced “kahns” but that’s not how we pronounce the city in north Queensland. Ignorant Aussies? Maybe, but that’s the way it is.
