Fantastic side this Ipswich team. Really was wonderful to watch and had a team full of great players. Probably underperformed by only winning the UEFA cup and coming second. Squad was too small and it suffered from fixture congestion. At one point it had a first leg UEFA cup semi final, then an FA cup semi final then a title decider all in the space of five days!
With a great referee's help... Running like cockroaches in all directions... A team without fantasy... Greatly favored by a pitch in very bad condition... A goal stolen for an imaginary offside...
What a great side, happy days at Portman Road. Recon thats the best European performance by an English side to date. Look at the players that St Etienne side had. Ipswich Town were a total unknown to them.
Nothing beats Robson's Ipswich squad, with the great Mariner at his best, Muhren and Thijssen, everlasting Mills, the unfairly underestimated Gates, and the greatest Ipswich player of all times John Wark!

Yep, we should have lost our f.a cup match v Aston villa in the 3rd round, then we may have won the league!
The greatest away performance by a British team abroad ever
MU à Benfica en 1966.
Si Ipswich avait été en finale à la place d' aston vila en 82, ils en
auraient passés 4 au bayern.
Yes
What an Ipswich team that was led by the great Sir Bobby.

Should have known the English team would win as the texture of the pitch resembled the field of Agincourt !
