Your videos really help me improve on the strategic overview of Rome total war, thank you very much and it is just also entertaining to watch. I normally played easy or normal difficulty auto resolving, but it is more fun playing very hard as would normally manually fight the battle so it is more difficult and enjoy full.
Happy to help! Yeah auto resolving on very hard almost always ends in defeat or large casualties unless your army is vastly superior, so its certainly a challenge
You could have won that deference. You needed to make a box around the gate, then let them come part way in and then charge from all sides. By leaving them in defensive formation you condemned them to stand and die on the end of the Greek pikes without a hope.
Please! They're pronounced "Seloocids", not "Selaeocids"! Anyways, I honestly would've bet money that you couldn't defend against the egyptians. As for the militia hoplites: Make room for them to come inside the gate, then when they're halfway in charge them from 3 sides. What you did was perfect for them since you fought them head on. Also when swarming them put off the "hold position" so your units get close and force the hoplites to draw their swords, disrupting their formation. Antways, despite the beef I'm giving you I enjoy this campaign a lot! I'm currently on a nostalgia trip myself and play RTR VII Gold as the Iberian tribes.

Javelins are strong against missile cavs be careful
