Absolutely wonderful interview. I am sooo encouraged and inspired by this conversation. I am 81 yes old, a retired English prof, with a passion for story. I have become a hypnotherapist who guides the retrieval of personal, individual stories for release of trauma. And release of thought habits associated with trauma. I have always been fascinated that the words used by traditional economics are the words of psychology, e.g., depression, inflation, . Jane's ideas answer in detail what my mind has left in general questions!! Wow!! Thank you, you next generation women!! I remember my strong resistance to teaching writing as "goal and audience." How can you set a goal for your soul?" I asked!!! Yet I taught it and it can be very effective. But is effectiveness all we want? How about curiosity? Mystery? Imagination? . There is so much wisdom in this interview that I cannot single out a statement.....in other words, I cannot pick a "take-away" ...... lol!! Is this inability an example of defeating bad competition, scarcity, double line accounting???? No takeaway. I have to listen several more times to learn this language which is falling on very fertile ground, to absorb all of this. ❤

Thank you...this is so enlightening and explains my deep disquietude as an accountant (now retired) inside the corporate world. I will never forget hearing an "outside, independent" CPA saying, in a financial meeting, "Tell us what number you need and we'll get you there". Many brilliant points and fundamentals explained here. Money/business/psychology is my area of fascination, so hearing you apply DSM IV definition of psychopathy applied to corporations: wow! and the relationship to trauma/safety/survival.

Thank you so much for not only validating so much of what I have long intuitively embodied about the nature of our out-of-control economic model but for bringing it into a larger context and giving me more "fuel", so to speak, for my conservation policy work. I was taken aback the first time I heard a student tell me that she had learned that economics was all about scarcity because I couldn't conceive of the Divine creating scarcity in our world. That definition of economics clearly comes from the '50s and '60s, Cold War ERA mentality, like so many approaches to "natural resource management" - as if we can manage Nature. I want to point out that the word "economy" originates from the Greek root for how you manage your home. I will definitely look for this book.
We had a business ( company ) making dairy free artisan cheeses. It was growing and well loved here in NZ but we were mandated during covid and we ended up closing down. We are now looking at setting up again and upscaling and B Lab looks great for us and we will definitely be looking into it more. Thanks for a great conversation.

Delighted to see you addressing this issue so often ignored when discussing spiritual topics. We often wish to pass off problems to "psychopathic" leadership without looking at how the values we take for granted shape us all. Learning to "break the habit of being yourself" is, as Jane says, the most difficult intervention of all. We are spiritual beings having a material experience. Going as far away from our connection to wholeness is our journey. We are never really lost. Everything "conspires" to bring us back to oneness while retaining our invaluable uniqueness. Each unique experience leading to greater wisdom enriches the greater reality.

This is so amazing and inspirational! I love how Jane talked about getting into astrology in 1992. That was about the time I got into astrology and tarot reading shortly after graduating from the Harvard school of Public health and being trained in health policy, epidemiology and related fields. Since that time I’ve spent my life mostly raising money for nonprofits and doing a lot of nonprofit development work, and accounting and doing a lot of work as an indigenous person in promoting native spirituality and worldview while also trying to make change in the concrete world around . I’ve always struggled with integrating the more metaphysical things I did with the more practical and I just love the topic here! It’s so timely and so important. It has motivated me to start focusing more on the concept of “ institutional privilege” that I talk about a lot and probably drive some of my friends and colleagues crazy going on and on about it. It reminds me of the mincer in Pink Floyd’s The Wall except it’s every living moment and every living thing that is being pushed through the mincer to produce cash Mind numbingly horrific!! And our value system is mentally hijacked into the idea that only material value is worth pursuing, constantly viewing the material world like the mincer!!! Chopping ourselves up to give up one thing in favour of another Sometimes food, sleep, well being for cold acceptance of the need to acquire cash!!! Great conversation! The idea of the commodification of human suffering and creation of giant corporations dictating how we approach healing in the US is so troubling. Both the healers and patients are suffering. A real head scratcher and too hard to fight for change when the those harmed are too sick or burned out to try

What a profoundly unexpected and powerful conversation Heather and Jane. I learned so much. Thank you both for the history of accounting and for your reflecting the breakdown of what’s going on including our complicity and complacency in the destructiveness our fears and trauma for safety, thereby allowing this devastating entity that is corporate values of profit and greed over all, to suppressed what are our lost innate values in ethical natural wisdom. Bless the indigenous peoples, their origin stories with the Cosmos and their wisdom for leading and reconnecting humanity back to the Earth’s natural cycles and place in the Universe. I’m part of the post WWll US 1940-50’s generation which felt dominated by materialism and repression that sparked youthful ideas of advocating communal values of: nonviolence, healing the earth, tolerance, peace, love (the Age of Aquarius) and liberation in the mid-1960-early 70’s. I would have heated discussions with my father(who worked for an international corporation) about social welfare change and being anti-war. He regarded my ideals as unrealistic and thought my joining marches was radical. He was afraid of all the movements that, that time sparked: The Native American, the Black, and the Chicano Movements and the Women’s Rights Struggles : from restoration of land grants, to farm workers' rights, to enhanced education, to voting and stopping the political and ethnic stereotypes of Black, Hispanic, Chinese, Mexicans, Native Tribes and Women in mass media. It was a time of trying to raise the collective consciousness. 2024, Here we are again. We are waking up to hard truths again and our own complicated trauma based complacency and complicity. This is has been 60 years of the corporate lobbyists, an ever present financial marketing influence and undercurrent for political corporate corruption for profit only. It has killed so many wonderful creative alternative ideas for supporting a healthy Earth by actually working against the earth’s wellbeing now in for centuries: not investing in clean air & pure water policies, spraying chemical contaminates on the soil and into the ground water and environmental deforestation, ocean pollution, damming rivers for power, suppressing alternative energy sources, fracking for fossil fuel, heavy metal contamination, killing social help for preventive and alternative mental and medical healthcare for all etc. There is great positive hope because of Shamanic Teachers, Astrologers like Heather and Authors, Astrologers and History Truth-Tellers like Jane because we can understand, recover and reclaim the will of the I Am choosing to be part of the Divine Cosmic Collective Consciousness shift going forward. ❤Gratitude and honoring you both for your loving service to the transformation of us all and these generous free podcasts. 🌎🙏🏼🌍🙏🏼🌏
I love this video so much! This is a very important, even vital, conversation right now. When I taught in a high school, I saw every day the trauma and damage done by the competitive system we have created. A large percentage of my students suffered from anxiety and depression and extremely high levels of stress. There is a huge need to find ways to mitigate this damage now, while we simultaneously bring in the "big picture" change we so desire.

I so am always so happy to see all your interviews Heather. Inspiring to my life. I can see how Civilization is evolving and the up coming generation is more inovated towards the need to be more efficient towards our environment healthy lifestyle. Like the Damns in British Columbia Canada, they are all getting so old that they will be dissembled and therefore the fish will beable to migrate as they did before the damns placement. The down fall is that they will be replaced by mini-nucuar plants that if they break down the impact will be small. Such an example of everything else that is focused on profit; Such is the fella from China who build a industry around creating plastic. It will all fall aaway as we, the people, stop buying anything plastic and seize from being consumers and become more self efficient. I do believe that there will be a shift once Uranus enters Gemini; the higher octave of Mercury. We are already moving to more community since Covid impact inspired us towards the importance of community standing tall against a government propaganda. It was all towards the benefit'evolution process.

I've been having the same thoughts about capitalism, for years now.It's out of control. Unsustainable growth in the natural world is called, "cancer." Specifically answers the question why does my singing consistently improve but not when I put paint to canvas? Because the intention to sing is for my personal growth and pure self expression whereas with painting theres an underlying thought will someone want to buy this? Comparison competition and scarcity act as gatekeepers preventing connection to source and authentic expression.

The fundamental pattern we all have is deference to hierarchical authority. Master-slave, Lord-Peasant, Employer-Employee. All top down, command and control, undemocratic economic structures. Solution: worker co-ops in local and regional businesses. Worker managed businesses aren't likely to pollute or destroy the environment they live in, cheat their local customers and ruin their reputation, or outsource their own jobs. This would be a major real world paradigm shift, and it will go along with the new Aquarian consciousness.

It is certainly no easy task and can be painful to reconnect, and requires a lot of love and compassion and support, including self-love and self-compassion. our fears and trauma for safety, thereby allowing this devastating entity that is corporate values of profit and greed over all, to suppressed what are our lost innate values in ethical natural wisdom. I’m part of the post WWll US 1940-50’s generation which felt dominated by materialism and repression that sparked youthful ideas of advocating communal values of: nonviolence, healing the earth, tolerance, peace, love (the Age of Aquarius) and liberation in the mid-1960-early 70’s. I would have heated discussions with my father(who worked for an international corporation) about social welfare change and being anti-war. He regarded my ideals as unrealistic and thought my joining marches was radical. He was afraid of all the movements that, that time sparked: The Native American, the Black, and the Chicano Movements and the Women’s Rights Struggles : from restoration of land grants, to farm workers' rights, to enhanced education, to voting and stopping the political and ethnic stereotypes of Black, Hispanic, Chinese, Mexicans, Native Tribes and Women in mass media. It was a time of trying to raise the collective consciousness.
2024, Here we are again. We are waking up to hard truths again and our own complicated trauma based complacency and complicity. This is has been 60 years of the corporate lobbyists, an ever present financial marketing influence and undercurrent for political corporate corruption for profit only. It has killed so many wonderful creative alternative ideas for supporting a healthy Earth by actually working against the earth’s wellbeing now in for centuries: not investing in clean air & pure water policies, spraying chemical contaminates on the soil and into the ground water and environmental deforestation, ocean pollution, damming rivers for power, suppressing alternative energy sources, fracking for fossil fuel, heavy metal contamination, killing social help for preventive and alternative mental and medical healthcare for all etc.
There is great positive hope because of Shamanic Teachers, Astrologers like Heather and Authors, Astrologers and History Truth-Tellers like Jane because we can understand, recover and reclaim the will of the I Am choosing to be part of the Divine Cosmic Collective Consciousness
shift going forward.

I love this video so much! This is a very important, even vital, conversation right now. When I taught in a high school, I saw every day the trauma and damage done by the competitive system we have created. A large percentage of my students suffered from anxiety and depression and extremely high levels of stress. There is a huge need to find ways to mitigate this damage now, while we simultaneously bring in the "big picture" change we so desire.

I so am always so happy to see all your interviews Heather. Inspiring to my life. I can see how Civilization is evolving and the up coming generation is more inovated towards the need to be more efficient towards our environment healthy lifestyle. Like the Damns in British Columbia Canada, they are all getting so old that they will be dissembled and therefore the fish will beable to migrate as they did before the damns placement. The down fall is that they will be replaced by mini-nucuar plants that if they break down the impact will be small. Such an example of everything else that is focused on profit; Such is the fella from China who build a industry around creating plastic. It will all fall aaway as we, the people, stop buying anything plastic and seize from being consumers and become more self efficient. I do believe that there will be a shift once Uranus enters Gemini; the higher octave of Mercury. We are already moving to more community since Covid impact inspired us towards the importance of community standing tall against a government propaganda. It was all towards the benefit'evolution process.

Specifically answers the question why does my singing consistently improve but not when I put paint to canvas? Because the intention to sing is for my personal growth and pure self expression whereas with painting theres an underlying thought will someone want to buy this? Comparison competition and scarcity act as gatekeepers preventing connection to source and authentic expression.

The fundamental pattern we all have is deference to hierarchical authority. Master-slave, Lord-Peasant, Employer-Employee. All top down, command and control, undemocratic economic structures. Solution: worker co-ops in local and regional businesses. Worker managed businesses aren't likely to pollute or destroy the environment they live in, cheat their local customers and ruin their reputation, or outsource their own jobs.
This would be a major real world paradigm shift, and it will go along with the new Aquarian consciousness.

Yes, this is such a good question, Jesse. Thank you for your comment. Heather has helped me so much with my own healing (including with her beautiful, grounded book 'From Trauma to Freedom'). It is certainly no easy task and can be painful to reconnect, and requires a lot of love and compassion and support, including self-love and self-compassion.
